Dillard House

The bed was very comfortable. The room was nice. The view was nice. We were on the meadows side which was a view of the horses in the pasture. Staff was exceptional. I wanted to eat there but they had ham, dressing, etc (12/26/24) and I had been eating that for 3 days and was not in the mood for it a 4th day.

My wife and I stay 2 night room was fairly clean and we decided to eat in the dining room. Food was very poor most was cold by the time it got to us and we asked for more bread and water 3 times and got nothing. Very poor service, food was not replenished in a timely manner. For 65 dollars we could have ate at Cracker Barrel twice and had a lot better food. We had heard that it was a nice place but the locals warned us afterwards not to go. Been there done that but not again. Save your money and go somewhere else. You would think they would give a free breakfast for guest but nope. Breakfast 22 bucks lunch 23 and dinner 30. Not worth it at all. Not so much as a thank you for staying with them. Rooms online were 115 but when we called the first night was 169 + tax. Because they said it was Saturday night And the second night was 111 +. Tax. There was plenty of rooms empty so why the 169. Hell a night in a Hilton is less than that. Old renovation poor food and less than friendly staff makes it the one and only time we will stay. It may have been a real nice place at one time but not now.

Hard beds, hard pillows, pool closed. We come up every year from Daytona Beach, Fl. Stay in same room My husband andI are both in our late 60s 10 hour drive. Very disappointed that pool has not been taken care of all summer. Went to restaurant for family reunion same exact food as last year 2 salads were already sitting on all tables . Server was nice. Also disappointed in food country fried shoe leather(supposed to be steak). Small portions for a table of 10 people.Not enough to go around one time. The hotel has been sold but still needs lots of repairs on certain buildings. The maid service only good thing this year.

It's an older, historical hotel, with nice grounds for walking, very clean, quiet, beautiful views, good food. The service is available when you want it with friendly staff. Our favorite part was the horseback ride on site. The guide did everything to make it enjoyable. They make you want to return.
