We paid over the odds as we went direct through the pub. The rooms were freezing the first night. Breakfast was ok, dinner, which we paid for separately, was middling. Poor value for money. The staff were friendly. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean, but the towels were small and quite old. Not ideal if you are elderly, as steep stairs up to the bedrooms. Surroundings were peaceful and pretty.

Popped here for dinner Saturday afternoon, massive beer garden next to the river. The most beautiful setting you could ask for, surprisingly quiet with loads of places to sit. The beer was outstanding, brewed next door onsite. The reason Im leaving a review is because the food was absolutely outstanding, I had the steak, I took a gamble as it’s quite pricey but when It came out my jaw hit the floor. It was the best steak I’ve had in years, far better than anything I’ve had at renowned “steak places” blew me away, massive portion with huge amount of sides, it’s all I’ve though about for days after, I want to go back asap. All the food was brilliant, everyone of our large family was really happy and the staff friendly, great. 10/10 for our visit, can’t recommend enough. Splash out, have the steak, it might change your life.

Food was amazing , Camembert salad fabulous and the cheese and marmite bread was so fresh One of our group had the pork that melted in your mouth The cheese platter was fab Atmosphere of the pub was wonderful and homely with the large open fire crackling in the background We have already booked a second visit

Called in Monday 8th Jan24 at 12.10. Ordered two coffees and one ham sandwich, one bacon. Coffees were cold, bread on sandwiches too stale to eat, chips very dark brown, the texture of cooked sphagetti and cold, bacon burnt. Open fire burning but otherwise no heating.

Traditional pub with great Traditional values, 16 of us for evening meal, all went smoothly with great food super beers and service, Filling full English breakfast in the morning after a comfy night's sleep. I recommend staying here for sure. Well done owner and staff.

Been many a long year since last visited. However driving past and we decided to call in for food. Food was vey good, hot and served promptly. Although busy service was quick. A cold day so glad it was nice and warm inside!

Stayed here for a one night getaway. Cosy room. Hotel / pub has the nice feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. The floors upstairs are far from level and are creaky, but that's really ok, it is an old property!! Ate in the restaurant in the evening. Food was average, pastry on the pie was overcooked and extremely tough (inedible). Breakfast the next day was ok but nothing special. They really need to spend some money, for instance the carpet on the bottom two steps leading the rooms is non-existent, and I scuffed my shoes as a result. Staff are very friendly, I would go back there but only following some investment and a new chef.

Popped in on way back from Wales for a drink and sandwiches! Wish we hadn't bothered £12 for a glass of proseco, was offered a choice of white or wholemeal bread for our,sandwiches but when they arrived was sliced loaf a few frozen chips and a bit of wilted salad then to top it all got smoked out buy the open fire ! Such a shame used to ve a great pup

It was OK, with a good selection of ales and very friendly and helpful staff. Food was very exoenesive for what it was. £12 for breakfast. I'd definitely call in for a beer but would never eat there again.
