L Esplanade

Excellent 4-night stay at l'Esplanade. We were given a choice of spacious and comfortable rooms and enjoyed the one we picked. Delicious breakfasts, beautifully presented. The staff was welcoming, helpful, and graciously accommodated our needs. Highly recommend!

Such a charming old school hotel with stunning views over the Dordogne valley. Things a little old fashioned, but comfortable and that's part of the charm. The team is lovely, and dinner at the restaurant was worth the splurge. We look forward to coming back.

My wife and I stayed here April 26-29. We are so glad we did. The view of the Dordogne valley from our large, comfortable room was breathtaking. On a whim we decided to try the 1/2 board for our 3 nights. It was an excellent decision! The food was superior to most of the restaurants we ate in France over a three week trip. The service was exceptional. What an experience eating Michelin quality food while overlooking the vast verdant Dordogne valley. I should also mention that hotel prices were a screaming bargain. This place is an absolute treasure and a one of a kind experience. I highly recommend it.

Firstly the people, lovely warm and friendly The location is sensational with wonderful b=views over the Dordogne valley Rooms spotless, clean and tidy The restaurant is excellent, wonderful food of a Michelin standard The foie gras pole , Magret de canard and topped by the best souffles anywhere I have been to the restaurant several times but this is the first time I have stayed overnight, great experience

This is my second stay at this unique and wonderful hotel. After reviewing over 450 hotels and restaurants, I only give 5 star reviews to those that are truly exceptional in some way. Here I rated both the hotel and restaurant as 5* for the first time ever. This is owing in part to its amazing cliff top location on the edge of Domme overlooking miles of the Dordogne Valley several hundred feet below (perfect for watching the hot air balloons rise over the hills at dawn. It is owing in part to the amazing half board dinner with three courses of amusement bouche before the entree, between the entree and wonderful plant and after dessert when one was already satiated. But it is owing mostly to the warm welcome of our host and her ever present furry sidekick. I will return again and again and would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

Such a charmign place, family-run, splendid food and wine, I think the cheese board is the biggest we'd ever seen! Views from the terrace over the Dordogne are to die for.
