Hex Wildlife Hotel at Yorkshire Wildlife Park

Brilliant hotel clean everything you need staff absolutely amazing defo stop again

we have just returned from a 2 night stay at the hex. the check in was quick and we were told about things. although the reception area is a short walk from the hotel. we were on the 2nd floor where we could see the wolves and tapirs. it was very quiet except for the sea lions making some noise nothing major. our room was of good size with a comfortable bed and lovely pillows. there was a hospitality tray which contained a good selection. also a safe and small fridge. the only downside was the bean bag . the room and bathroom was very clean. there was a good selection of toiliteries in the reasonable sized bathroom the shower was excellent with plenty of hot water. there was a room containing vending machines micriowave. the breakfast in the bistro was of good choice. we ate here for our evening meal which was good value although drinks r a bit on the expensive side. evolution the other dining area was closed. electric scooters are available to hire , it is a long walk round the park but plenty of benches to rest if needed. our stay was very enjoyable and cannot wait to return very soon/

The hotel is good, rooms are clean and offer a decent selection of drinks and facilities in the rooms and the communal areas are nice. The park view is something of a misnomer, don't expect to see tigers, elephants and giraffes from your room expect to see fake dinosaurs, the service areas for the restaurants, chairs and tables. It feels like an opportunity was missed when the park's layout was designed.

Hex Evolution, the quality of the food was very poor. The pizza are over priced for squirted on sweet tomato sauce and clumps of cheese that just fall off, with the bread being very thick Overpriced and poor quality , would not recommend at all.

Disappointed at the cleanliness level of the hotel room. Was quite filthy with mould in the shower drain, a dirty spill on the wall and dirty cushions. Also disappointed to be given a non-park facing room despite the hotel being mostly empty. The service was friendly and polite. Double check the available facilities as we went early week and the Evolution restaurant was closed so we ordered locally.

Stayed here for one night whilst visiting the park. Great rooms equipped with fridge, safe, TV, bathroom etc most comfortable beds ever! Small kitchen area on the floor also. Easy access. Check in and check out process simple. Restaurant directly downstairs, very good breakfast and main meals. Can seem a little pricey but all worth the money. Went in the park both days. Nice selection of shops but could do with a small newsagent/grocery type store for essentials whilst staying.

Stayed 2 nights for 2 seperate trips at the hex hotel while visiting the wildlife park, the hotel was always clean, quiet and comfortable. The room air conditioning is a bonus after a long sunny day of walking in the park. Bed comfortable and the selection of complimentary biscuits, coffee, tea and shower supplies all very nice! When visiting the wildlife park we will be back again for sure!

We had a great time and I felt the price was extremely reasonable. We were a family of 5 and we had the balcony overlooking the wolves which was extremely peaceful and just all round lovely. The room was lovely and had lots of refreshments and biscuits. There’s a fridge you can use there. I’d advise booking the restaurant as we missed out because we didn’t book. There’s loads of little cute shops there it’s like a mini village in the middle of nowhere. It was a warm day and we felt like we were abroad. We will definitely go back. Take lots of food if you want to save money, we then went to the York maze to finish the trip off.
