Loved Donegal

Central hotel is a charming hotel with loads of character. The rooms are spacious and our party of 12 all had rooms overlooking the water. The location is great and a minute or so from pubs, restaurants and shopping. The staff are wonderful. On our tour around the country this hotel and location is the favorite by far!

We had a lovely two night mother/daughter stay here. Our room was comfy and a lovely view over the bay. We were so central to everything. It was a great base to explore Bundoran, Glencar Waterfall, Murvagh beach. The staff gave us a great warm Donegal welcome. We had dinner in the restaurant the first night. The staff were very attentive and the gentleman in charge ran a tight ship. Very professional. He even gave me a cushion when he seen I was sitting forward in my dining chair. The food was lovely. I had the sweet n sour chicken. Very nice! Cocktail menu to choose from also. Breakfast the next morning had the same level of customer care. Cereals n cooked breakfast on offer. We had dinner in the bar on the second night. I asked earlier what time they served food to in the bar and was told 9pm but when we returned at 8.00pm we were told by the same man that dinner was served till 8.30pm and from a smaller menu as the kitchen was under pressure from the bigger dining room downstairs. We ordered the sharing platter which was a deep fried affair. Apart from that we had a great stay. There was a great 2 piece ballad and Irish music band in the bar. We will return.

Breda and team central were very helpful in the organisation of a surprise 50th wedding anniversary for my parents. The food and set up of the party were excellent. The accommodation was lovely and all staff throughout our stay were so welcoming and couldn’t have been more helpful

Just back from a wonderful 2night at the central hotel, all I can say is absolutely brilliant, from receptionist to manager and bar staff and cleaners, most friendly people I have met, as I am on oxygen 24/7 the staff looked after me from bringing drinks to the room ( guys from Croatia and Poland) thank you. The owner( I think) put bollards out in front of hotel so I could load my car with oxygen tanks, never had such kindness in my life, and thank you for the guy who took my suitcase down for me. Definitely go on the road trip the wild Atlantic way and also go on paddy burns boat at Teelen pier for a trip round the cliffs. Every shop in Donegal you will find chatty and lively staff. Harvey’s point is a must for dinner ( it is too class) But if you are thinking of going to Donegal definitely go to the Central Hotel, will definitely be back xx

Very Convenient location to All the excitement in area! Convenient car parking close by. No AC in any of the rooms , although was furnished with a small fan to help cool off rooms. We stayed 3 nights, was unhappy with our room on 1st night (view was a concrete wall) We felt like we were in a dungeon! Requested a different room next night and was given a bigger nicer room overlooking the “Diamond”. When we were there Donegal GAA football team won the championship , So lots of excitement everywhere! Fun!

We are just back from a week in the Central Hotel in Donegal Town The hotel is first class our bedrooms were lovely and clean the food was excellent and staff all so friendly we have stayed here before and loved it, wish we could have stayed longer , the hotel being in the heart of the town made it even better we are talking when we will be over next year,thank you all Carey,Bobby and Margaret

Superb location in the town. Old school hotel - clean, tidy and very welcoming. Staff very helpful and attentive. Enjoyed a relaxing weekend with friends. Food was very good and in Donegal fashion they killed you with kindness. I will come back

I’ve never experienced such friendly, welcoming and hospitable hotel staff in a long time! We recently stayed at the hotel for two nights as part of Cycling Ulster’s leisure weekend. The staff could not do enough for us. Our requests were met with a smile and nothing was any bother. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast was first class. Our booking included two evening meals and these were also first class. The menu had plenty of choice. The value for money was exceptional. Thank you for making our weekend so relaxing and enjoyable. The hotel is so convenient to the town. We had a ball and will be back again soon.
