Bay Tree House

Family stayed here and they loved it. Clean, comfortable and a very warm welcome from the owners. Nothing was too much trouble to ensure a fantastic stay. Would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing trip to Dorchester in Dorset. Family can't wait to come back and rebook the Bay Tree!

The house was lovely, he was very welcoming and friendly. We arrived quite late, ended up just watching TV in bed and then having breakfast before getting back on the road. Breakfast was nice, the host went to good effort to make us a fry up and out a good spread on of cereals, juices, fruit etc. The bed was comfortable, we had a good nights sleep. The bathroom and shower wasn’t very clean at all and we had a used dirty mug in our bedroom when we arrived. The dining room where we ate breakfast also wasn’t clean, floor was untidy and could of done with a hoover and mop. Otherwise the stay was pleasant.

Great clean room and friendly homely vibe very accommodating host with a top quality breakfast highly recommend. Stayed here on business trip and will be booking again on next trip Gary and Nicola very eager to make my stray as pleasant as possible.

Having stayed here previously and been very happy, this place has gone very much down hill. Having got into our room, we were greeted with old duvets, yellow stained pillows, stains on the mattress, old bedding, all of which personally, I would have binned a long time ago. We also opened the cupboard under the sink to find it was filthy. The final straw was when I went to have a drink of water and found we had the dregs of the previous guests. It’s like the owner has lost interest. Yes we could have complained but we’re limited on time and had already wasted a lot of time discussing an issue with the booking, which was not resolved to our satisfaction, so figured we would be wasting our time anyway.

This was our third stay at Bay Tree House and we were warmly welcomed by owners Gary and Nicola. The room was well laid out with plenty of drawers and hanging space to unpack. The bathroom was well lit and functional. Close to the high street it was a convenient ten minute walk to shops and cafes. Gary served a great breakfast and it was nice getting to know other guests around the breakfast table. Recommend! We’ll be back again. Note to Gary: our room could do with a good spring clean.

One of the best accommodation in Dorset. Food was good, staff was polite and friendly, I visited this hotel in march and it was totally a refreshing experience for our family. I was looking for a great holiday with my family and i totally loved this hotel and food. The rooms were clean and big enough.

I had a pleasant stay here. The room was clean and very comfortable and the breakfast was fine. I didn't have the Full English, but it looked huge! The location is good for visiting the sights of Dorchester. Gary was very accommodating and helpful.

Welcomed by a relative? Just bizarre, the photos of the place are mainly of the owners area. Woman owner really rude ? Our booking was on refundable otherwise we would have left. If you can’t be hospitable, don’t work in the hospitality industry. The room needed a good clean, especially the carpet. Thankfully we were only booked in for one night. Not a great sleep, dogs in the house barking, some woman apparently another relative shouting. Think we were the only guests, just seemed like we were in somebody’s house not a business. At breakfast we were offered out of date yogurts, on a dirty dog hairy table in their lounge ? Again bizarre, not really setup as you would expect aB&B, you even have to walk through their kitchen. To be honest we were relieved to be leaving.

Great location, short walk into Dorchester town centre with lots of interesting things to do and see and some excellent restaurants. Bay Tree House is a comfortable and spotless B and B. Great breakfast choices, freshly prepared, very friendly hosts, lovely room tastefully decorated and furnished. Lots of interesting places locally including the Dorset Falconry (about 3 miles) well worth a visit. Also Monkey World is only 20 mins drive. We were unlucky with the weather so will definitely go back and explore more.
