Landhotel Römerhof

Nice family owned hotel in a quiet small town. Pro: Very clean rooms, nice spa in the basement area and a nice cosy restaurant with very personal service. Stayed there for 5 nights and enjoyed taking the lift to the alpinetop and going for a walk. One day rented an e bike at the hotel - nice well maintained bike and took a 20 km ride to a restaurant at one of the alpine tops. The location is nice and quiet. Cons: Be aware that the room description, photos and sketches does not represent the outlay of all rooms. During peak hours, parking next to the hotel, can be a challenge

We have just spent 6 nights here and feel as if we have been in a 5 star luxury hotel the whole time. Traditional Austrian hotel with amazing food whether you just have breakfast or add in dinner from time to time. The photos of the spa on the website do not do it justice - pool, jacuzzi, steam, 2 x saunas, thermo showers, plunge pool and 2 different rest zones. The hotel is family run and the owners are present and attentive and friendly at all times. There is a garage full of bikes that you can borrow. The room was wonderful too. I could go on and on. Located in Dorf Gastein in the Gastein area - information and brochures on all that you can do in the area is widely available and easy to follow. Highly recommend. Thank you Roemerhof!

Just returned from few days at Landhotel Romerhof in Dorfgastein - I had a wonderful experience: the room, the food, the sauna area, the surrounding area - everything was so good! And above all - the hotel team was amazing and so helpful in everything, always with a big big smile

Traditional Austrian hotel in a quiet village 5 minutes from the lift station with a ski bus stop right outside. Staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful, room was spacious, clean and quiet. Food was excellent each night, the cake in the afternoon was delicious and whilst the beer was cold, the hot tub and swimming pool were not. Nothing but praise for the Romerhof and it’s staff, thank you for making a great week even better. We will certainly be back again.

Austrian hospitality done with grace and charm. We felt welcome and all members of the staff worked hard to make our holiday a pleasure. I have no hesitation in recommending Landhotel Romerhof for a great skiing trip. Thank you for all the kuchen!

We were really looking forward to a meal at The Romerhof, we had high expectations. The food was indeed very nice but the service was poor. On arrival, we were early for our dining reservation and keen to have a pre dinner drink in the bar. This wasn't offered as being available and we were rushed through to our table. This was fine. Busy place etc. We were then rushed to choose our drinks and our food. A drinks menu wasn't offered at all and so we went for wine and a whisky. Struggled with the food menu as our German understanding leaves a lot to be desired (Yes. Not good on our behalf I know) but help wasn't freely given and we just gave up on trying to even choose a starter as the waiter was so pushy on getting main course choices from us. English maybe spoken here but please don't rely on this as an aid as a friendly vibe was really lacking. We didn't get offered a dessert menu after finishing our meal and gave up on that too. Had to ask for the bill twice as kept waiting. Quite a surly response on asking for the 2nd time. Anyway all in all, we had thought this could be a place to stay for skiing trips but definitely not an option now. In conclusion, both food and service have to be good for repeat trade. I hope that our waiter perhaps just took a dislike to us for some reason and that it is not indicative of a more pronounced disinclination to serve English guests.
