Landhotel Römerhof

We returned again as a family and were looked after very well by the caring and attentive family. The hotel is well located, rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. Nothing is too much trouble. The meals are excellent, as is the overall service from the hotel team. The spa area is great after a day skiing, as is the afternoon tea! Many thanks again

We arrived in Salzburg on a delayed Lufthansa flight from London and quickly hopped into a taxi to the main railway station. Thankfully, we made it just in time to catch the train to Dorfgastein. The hotel thoughtfully arranged for a car to pick us up from the Dorfgastein station (approximately 1 km away), and by early evening, we were relaxing in the charming hotel bar. Römerhof is a traditional, family-run Austrian hotel located in a peaceful village just five minutes from the lift station, with a convenient ski bus stop right outside. The ski runs are quite extensive and notably less challenging than those in nearby Bad Gastein, making them perfect for a more relaxed experience. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. Our room was clean, spacious, and quiet, though the shower’s thermostat was a bit temperamental. The food was excellent every night, and the afternoon cake was simply delicious. We can thoroughly recommend the "half board" option during the skiing season. We have nothing but praise for Römerhof and its wonderful team.

We have just spent 6 nights here and feel as if we have been in a 5 star luxury hotel the whole time. Traditional Austrian hotel with amazing food whether you just have breakfast or add in dinner from time to time. The photos of the spa on the website do not do it justice - pool, jacuzzi, steam, 2 x saunas, thermo showers, plunge pool and 2 different rest zones. The hotel is family run and the owners are present and attentive and friendly at all times. There is a garage full of bikes that you can borrow. The room was wonderful too. I could go on and on. Located in Dorf Gastein in the Gastein area - information and brochures on all that you can do in the area is widely available and easy to follow. Highly recommend. Thank you Roemerhof!

Cosy family run hotel. The team work hard to make you feel comfortable. The hotel offers good food, a cosy bar and a nice pool and spa area. They also have a number of family rooms which provide 2 bedrooms at a good value rate. Also convenient for the wider Gastein ski area by bus or car. Notwithstanding that there had been no new snow for a few weeks, the piste conditions in Gastein were very good and much better than neighboring Zell am See where we skied one day (25 mins away by car). We definitely recommend this resort as a good value option with extensive skiing close by.

Traditional Austrian hotel in a quiet village 5 minutes from the lift station with a ski bus stop right outside. Staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful, room was spacious, clean and quiet. Food was excellent each night, the cake in the afternoon was delicious and whilst the beer was cold, the hot tub and swimming pool were not. Nothing but praise for the Romerhof and it’s staff, thank you for making a great week even better. We will certainly be back again.

Just returned after a week skiing with wife and 2 kids and looked after wonderfully by the hotel family and team. The level of care and attention towards guests is exceptional and the hotel runs like clockwork. Meals were excellent, rooms are well appointed and very clean, there is a cosy bar area and lovely afternoon tea, spa and pool area really lovely and a good ski and boot room. Location is a ten minute stroll to the ski area or one stop on ski bus right outside. Thanks for your kindness and attention. We will return. Fam.Barr
