Although we were not far from home , Dornoch has always been a favourite spot to visit . We chose the top room as it has a wonderful view of the Dornoch Firth and part of the golf course . We were delighted with the comfort and warm welcome received from all staff . The breakfasts are superb with the beautiful view from the dining being an added attraction . The hotel is a stone’s throw from the local shops etc . Very clean and comfortable accommodation . Our room was very comfortable. Thank you to all staff . We will be back .

From the minute we arrived the team at the hotel were the perfect hosts. Welcoming, friendly and the little extra personal touches meant a Lot. Angela the GM went out of her way to ensure our stay more than exceeded our expectations. The bar and restaurant team were all friendly as well as efficient.

Excellent short stay. Quiet time of year but excellent service and food provided by the hotel. Superb location with great views from the dining area. Staff were friendly and attentive and our room was great.

We had a lovely few days at the hotel. The room was very comfortable and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast in the restaurant was a delight, with wonderful views over the Dornoch Firth.

I chose this hotel based on the reviews, the views and proximity to beach. The room view was stunning, you couldn’t get a better view anywhere. Bathroom was immaculate. Bed was very comfortable too. There is a huge damp patch on ceiling in the room I stayed in, and due to being right next to the toilets, there is a strong smell when you get to your room. I stayed in 202. I had breakfast of porridge which was delicious, I was confused though when I was given maple syrup to have with it, so went for honey instead, which would have been great if it was local to the area as I know there is so much wonderful honeys in Scotland. This hotel has some of the most amazing views in Scotland and the golf course is one of the best anywhere. The staff were all incredibly welcoming. The hotel could really up its game with some maintenance and more local produce.

We had a group of 8 golfers and the Royal Golf Hotel is just a perfect home base when in Dornoch for golf. Service is terrific, location is great, and rooms are uber comfortable. Highly recommended!

The Royal Golf Hotel is located next to the Golf Club in Dornoch and ideally positioned for golfers staying to play. The restaurant is well positioned with panoramic views across the course to the sea. The hotel is welcoming, cosy and has a friendly staff on hand and a good restauarant. Unfortunately, we were allocated to room 219 at the back of the hotel over the kitchen. This led to an intrusive amount of noise from the kitchen to late evening and starting very early (6am) the next day. Avoid this room if you are a light sleeper - even without my hearing aids in, I was disturbed!
