Premier Inn Douglas, Isle of Man

absolute waste of money don't bother i would say, you pay extra for a premier plus room and there's nothing plus about it , cheap nasty mattress with a cheap mattress topper attached to it ( done on the cheap) not the comfort and quality you would expect for the money paid to stay .. not only that the mini fridge you suppose to have complimentary bottles of water ( nothing and apparently they have ran out ) then instead of apologising get shouted what room number you in and will try and find water in the restaurant for you ,when spoke to reception all i got was yea we've ran out ( disgusting customer care) , and so called sweet treats all there is is 2 tiny chocolates ( laughable) and on further inspection of the room where you would expect a walk in shower but no just a over the bath shower , and paint peeling of the ceiling.. after then going to reception again about the room , oh we can probably move you to another room and there's nothing can do about the peeling paint.. never again and don't waste your money on a plus room , biggest waste of money going

Spent 3 nights whilst over for the TT. Great location - close to the shops, and bus station and not a bad walk up to the TT fan zone/grandstands (30mins) Very friendly and helpful staff. Standard Premier inn rooms which were clean and seemed recently refurbished. No issues with noise, plenty of tea and coffee, fresh towels and housekeeping if you wanted. If the price is good then I don’t think there’s a better option for families in Douglas. Caught the bus to and from the airport - £2.80 each way (taxi would be £24 each way). You get off on Victoria Street which is less than a 5 mins walk and you get on on Lord Street which is just over a 5 mins walk. Go Saver day passes are worth it if you’re doing more than one bus journey a day, you can buy them from the drivers. Go explore cards are great if you want to do the steam train/electric tram/snaefell/tramway or a combination of all plus bus access-they can be bought from the main terminals. We did the steam train, tramway, electric tram and snaefell and all were well worth doing. Also visited Peel and Ramsay, probably more to do in Peel but worth the trips and the bus routes go along a lot of the TT course which is interesting. Ate at Porters (burgers), Just Pizza and Pasta and Aura (Indian), all very good. Aura probably the best tasting and quality Indian we’ve had in the UK. We were first timers at the TT and spent day 1 in Grandstand section 2 which had a great view of the start/finish as well as good audio and large TV screens showing the rest of the track. Day 2 we spent in Noble Park Grandstand, around 500yds down from the start line and a great view of the bikes coming towards and past you as well as the pit lane access road, seats 1-9 in each row was closest to the track. No TVs and the sound wasn’t as clear.

Just wanted to say thank you to Georgia at reception to be vey attentive and polite with my queries on the phone. Hopefully I’ll have the same thing to talk about our stay the end of May. See you soon …………………………………………………………………………………………………..

We are extremely grateful for Hannah and Kenny, thank you so much for going above and beyond for us, when we come back we will be staying at the premier inn, Thanks again, highly recommended to stay here due to staff and how helpful they can be!!

I have used a number if Premier Inns and this was by far the poorest. On arrival at 1115 I was told there was no rooms available despite paying for early check in. Mould around the bath/shower. Toilet seat broken. Overall the room and the whole building looked tired and uncared for. I also feel the staff were as disappointing as the building. I stayed as part of a group of people who meet regularly in all parts of the UK and we always use the Premier inn. We will continue to use them but not in Douglas.

Nice place to stay, Friendly welcoming Staff. Good location for boat, public transport,shops and sea front. Family room/ensuite was nice and comfortable. Food choice at breakfast and evening meal was very good and tasty. Would stay again in future.
