My family(sister, brother-in-law, myself and husband) scheduled a two room, two night stay for 3/2023 back in Feb. My Aunt passed away and her memorial/funeral service was scheduled a month out, so we prepared as soon as we could so we had rooms. No one wants to worry about finding a hotel at the last minute in these circumstances. Fast forward a month, we are in line at the airport boarding our plane for our trip into Ga from out of state and the hotel calls us to tell us they bumped our reservation for a higher status guest. They said they can move us to the Fairfield. We quickly looked up the hotel they were trying to move us to, it was absolutely horrible! It was not even a comparable hotel. Needless to say we did not stay at Fairfield and the Marriott would not budge on our rooms, they even went as far to say it didn’t just happen to us, it affected others. Why would anyone ever book a room at a hotel that does not hold a reservation. That’s the whole point of a reservation, to hold your spot…and to kick you out at the last minute. Apparently the Marriott does NOT value their guests. Don’t waste your time with Marriott. AND to top it off, the Marriott then charged us $270!!! After all of this, them kicking us out of our room at the last minute, they charged us money. WOW!!! Their service and deceitful ways speak volumes. Do your research everyone, find a different hotel. The Marriott does not care about you or your stay with them.
