The Old Railway Station

Such a beautiful and unique stay. Checked into our beautiful room in the Montana Pullman Carriage, which was absolutely stunning. We relaxed in the lounge (after having lunch in the pub next door ) and enjoyed reading the history of the pullmans only to discover that 3 of the carriages came from near where we live. We had booked our dinner in the dining carriage Princesss Ena and what a fabulous experience that was with fantastic decor and wonderful food and service, almost like stepping into the Orient Express. The staff were amazing especially Kit who had only just started a few days before. The owner was so friendly and the lady who checked us in and served us breakfast was also brilliant. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice provided and we had a bonus of meeting And Peters with the GMTV film crew filming the daily competition. Can’t wait to return

Having previously stayed at the Old Petworth Railway Station several times and seeing the Princess Ena under restoration, we were keen to try it out once opened, so booked to go as a party of 5 for my father in law's birthday. We had such a lovely evening. The carriage has been beautifully restored. We were taken to our seats and the two servers were professional and friendly throughout the evening. The food was amazing. Classy, but not overly fussy, which is just what we like. They were very accommodating, fitting us onto a table for 5 and providing a separate small table for his presents. We would definitely recommend it and will be back. Thank you very much.

We had a fabulous overnight stay with evening meal here recently. Our room (in an old Pullman carriage) was luxurious and perfectly styled. Everything was spotlessly clean and in the bathroom were lovely soft towels and very nice toiletries. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room also. Our evening meal (served in another luxuriously decorated railway carriage) was absolutely delicious, the service impeccable. We were lucky to have beautiful weather and were able to sit out on the "platform" to have our wonderful breakfast the next morning. We cannot fault our stay here and would thoroughly recommend it as a special treat!

Step back in time and remember how comfortable luxury trains were. There are 4 ex- Pullman carriages - each one divided into 2 accommodations. There is also a Pullman dining car serving dinners in the old style further down the platform. The cars are very comfortable with tastefully appointed furnishing. The on suite is enormous with a large bath and shower. If you wish, you can take a cream tea served on the station platform overlooking the garden where the tracks used to be . I particularly enjoyed the breakfast served in the old waiting room. The room is styled just as it was in the old days - with the old brass lamps on the wall and quiet ambient music in the back ground. Fabulous - and you are not even waiting for a train.

The most relaxing and wonderful place to go.the staff were amazing and the cleanliness was second to none.will be going back for certain. Rooms lovely,ideal place for a relaxing stay.

Our Son booked us in for a Cream Tea on 29th June to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary, followed by a night in 'Flora 2' and breakfast the next morning. The pictures show the Cream Tea as set up (I do have a picture of the empty cake stand as well). Everything was perfect and all staff made us feel welcome. A good night in the immaculately clean Pullman, followed by breakfast on the platform (see picture). It was a hot day and night but all was OK (we did have to move the tables a bit to get out of sun at Breakfast). Were unable to dine there on Sunday night as Princess Ena is only open Tues-Sat, so we took the short walk to 'Badgers' - separate review posted. Can't fault The Old Station and hope to return.
