This B&B is set in a lovely beachside town right on the water . We visited in August to attend a family reunion. Our hosts Kenny and Lesley were great. Set in a charming Victorian building, the decor was lovely, the rooms was well appointed and quiet with a beautiful view out onto the water. Breakfast was excellent with many choices. We took the ferry and it was an easy walk to the place. It does have parking if you drive. There is a great deck to relax by the water. This beach is loaded with sea glass to collect. The price was a good value. The town of Dunoon is charming as well.

Wasn’t sure what to expect never read any reviews. It comes accross as a hotel, it’s actually a wee guest house. There isn’t any dinner options. Bar doesn’t open till 6. There’s some take away places nearby but not sure if it’s allowed to bring food in and sit in dining room!? Anyway we ate out. It’s spotlessly clean, just a few light bulbs out and wee cobwebs here and there. Very clean room etc. Breakfast pretty good, this is obviously their signature bit. But rushed at the end as staff were keen to clear up and clean all tables etc a few minutes to let us finish would be great. Boutique hotel is misleading hence the review.

Excellent location on waterfront this hotel/guest house is a great place to stay if you are visiting Dunoon. We were greeted at the front door by Kenny , (one of the owners )who showed us around and took us to our room. We had the last room available which was at the back of the hotel , it was small but ok for the one night that we were staying ( clean and comfortable) . Excellent breakfast with one of the best views over the waterfront you could hope for . Would definitely stay here again.

Charming hotel. Wonderful location. Easy walk to town center. Spectacular view and outside areas. Beach is right in front, people were swimming! Helpful hosts. Breakfast was delicious. Comfortable bed. We had a great time and would come back again

Excellent location, fantastic views, beautifully decorated and lovely outside garden with excellent sitting area (beer garden). Staff very friendly, greeted in the carpark area by proprietor on arrival which was a lovely personal touch. Will definitely be back to The St Ives.

Kenny and Lesley were excellent hosts, very friendly, helpful and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble for them. Room was great, views from the lounge were brilliant and food was also excellent. Hotel is in a great location, just walk through the garden and that is you onto the promenade and 5 minutes takes you into town. Car parking right at the front door. Highly recommend.

We waited 20 mins to get into a cold B&B and an empty bar. The room was 4 flights of stairs and very cold. The staff said the heat was unable to be turned on. The room was the smallest room I have ever seen,thé toilet seat was loose and the bathroom was about 7feet long 4ft deep and a very basic range of toiletries. Lovely view and was clean, the only seat in the room was a wiggly wooden cheap chair.On leaving I was told that I was going to have to pay for the broken toilet seat. This seat should have been replaced,as when it broke off it severely bruised my upper leg and could cause a clot.This place is like Faulty Towers on Steroid.
