The George Hotel Easingwold

Excellent service. Lovely food. Helpful staff. Good location.

Lovely 2 day break in The ‘George’ Great location for visiting York and lots of other nice villages around the area. Found Easingwold very clean and pretty. Great parking Had a meal one night , was fine but especially enjoyed the breakfasts served by charming waitress ‘ Debs’ Hotel just what we like : old and quaint and very well maintained. Staff friendly

I took my fiancée there for a birthday evening meal and wow the service was incredible and the food was so nice and tasty,The wine list was good and there was a good selection of drinks at the bar.The staff were very professional and all knew their jobs,I would recommend this place to anyone

The staff in the venue are a credit to the establishment; an example of that is their pleasantness plus the downstairs (pub) was exceptionally busy when we arrived - which is influenced by the staff. The room we stayed in, was a very different story. We stayed in Number 5, upstairs in the main building. The manager has admitted that the extractor fan in the bathroom has been broken and it has contributed to a build up of mildew and damp in the same room, and the bedroom. It's been a long time broken in my opinion, as some of the walls in the room, bedroom in particular, are in a very sorry state. Issue with dust in the room, plus the bed mattress has seen better days, even though the manager's opinion was it was less than two years old. At a cost of £130 for the night, I was shocked in truth. Very disappointing. My advice to the management is bring the condition of your rooms, like Number Five, up to the levels of the staff and their service, because this couldn't be anymore chalk and cheese in comparison. I won't be back unfortunately.

It's got to be the best hotel in north Yorkshire we stayed on 13/15 September, The Food was excellent and all the staff were so friendly that we could not have asked for more rooms were very clean and comfortable. We will be back. Ivan and Linda Coates

What a GREAT FIND this place is... We were in the area for Thirsk Races with Friends & decided on an overnight stay.. So glad we found the George. It's a great pub/hotel in the lovely Market Town of Easingwold.. From my first contact of a telephone booking to checking out, we had a fabulous experience. It is a 'proper quirky old place', we all Loved it.. The Hotel/rooms look to have been refurbished to a high standard recently & both of our rooms were of a good size. Not a straight line or level floor, which just added to our stay. Slept like a baby in a good comfy bed. Luckily I had booked a table for dinner as it is a busy place, but in a nice friendly way. The food was exceptional served by a very friendly team, with a special mention to Ollie who told us he was on his first shift, hope we haven't put him off working in hospitality LOL! Breakfast, cooked to order, served hot & as with dinner, faultless. Top Marks to ALL of 'TEAM GEORGE'.... I've already recommended a stay here to friends & pretty sure we'll be returning at some point in the future.
