Robert and Douglas are hands down the best hosts ever !!! Breakfast was amazing, clean rooms, have excellent ideas of what to do in Galena !! 2nd trip here and planning more. Cocktail hour is one of my favorites !! Meeting people from other states is a plus as well.

We felt very pampered at this beautiful home in Galena. Robert and Douglas are the best hosts, they even told us to "let us pour the coffee". They even shared some favorite hiking trails with us and shared history and wonderful conversation. We stayed midweek and had a wonderful time.

The Inn is beautifully decorated and great location close to the downtown area. Robert and Douglas are delightful host and very accommodating! The signature nightly cocktail and the delicious breakfast’s in the morning make this Inn a must stay place. Look forward to going again soon!

This was our fourth visit to Aldrich Guest House to celebrate our anniversary. We keep coming back because the innkeepers Robert and Douglas are so congenial and welcoming. They are excellent and imaginative cooks and always serve yummy breakfasts. They are also good at getting their guests to intermingle during their daily happy hour. The rooms are comfortably furnished, and the inn is located within walking distance of downtown Galena. We hope to come back again next year!

This is a glowing review! The Aldrich house is GORGEOUS and we enjoyed spending time in different areas on the property; the potting shed for movies was a fun hangout. The rooms are beautiful and the most comfortable bed and bedding. Location is a convenient 15 minute walk to downtown. Robert and Douglas are a DELIGHT! They made our stay and anniversary so special - with evening drinks & snack, superb breakfast, engaging conversations, and thank you cards at the end of our stay are just SOME of their special touches. They are a wealth of knowledge and will provide you with wonderful recommendations to make the most out of your visit. Their hospitality is UNMATCHED! THANK YOU ROBERT AND DOUGLAS!!!!!!!!

Our recent visit to the Aldrich House was our first ever stay at a bed and breakfast. What a unique and exciting experience it was! The innkeepers, Robert and Douglas, have done a remarkable job of refinishing a stately historic house at a site which is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. The home features enticing common areas, a spacious dining room, and a delightful screened in porch which overlooks a beautifully landscaped yard. Food and drink were wonderful. The innkeepers were gracious and hospitable throughout our time together. No detail with respect to the comfort and well-being of their guests was too insignificant to merit special attention. Their status as one of the premier bed and breakfast establishments in the nation is justly deserved.

Jacuzzi was disgusting. Water didn't get hot and turned yellow as I was filling the jacuzzi. Pool was closed without notice on the website. The general manager told me he would give me a full refund and didn't. I had to contact *******, where they gave me back half of the money. Don't go to American inn and suites it peosta! Place is a joke!

Robert and Douglas are masters among us when it comes to hospitality and making us always feel welcome and comfortable. It is always a wonderful experience to stay at Aldrich, from the home made breakfast to the from-scratch cookies. It’s our second home, and we always cherish our stays.

Love coming to the Aldrich Guest House! Douglas and Robert are amazing hosts and very accommodating! My wife and I love going to Galena for our anniversary and this B&B is a big reason why! Very welcoming and friendly with great recommendations! Their knowledge of the house and town and stories are so great! Truly amazing people and we appreciate them!
