Lefevre Inn and Resort

Very nice and friendly hotel. Beatiful views and convenient location. Within 5-10 minutes from mane attractions. No hot meals for breakfast, just toasted bagels. Also, fruits, juice, milk, cereal, oatmeal, yogurts, tea, coffee.

My wife and I visited for a long weekend and we found our stay at LeFevre Inn to be very enjoyable. We have stayed at several different locations on previous trips to the area and this will definitely be a repeat location. Granted, we had a wonderful weekend from the weather standpoint but the location and amenities at the inn really helped us enjoy our stay. We enjoyed a late evening float on the lake as the sunset and loved sitting on the deck for our breakfasts. We felt the options for breakfast were sufficient and well stocked. Our room was comfortable and clean. Alfredo at the front desk was a pleasure to interact with and was very helpful when needed. We weren't thrilled with the TV being above the fireplace. It made watching it a bit strenuous having to look so high up and not being able to see it from the bed. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Came up for the weekend with my wife. To get the positive out of the way, the outside was very nice with a nice overlook of Galena. Now for the bad. We stayed in the smaller rooms of the main building. First look over there was grime on the walls and bathroom door. As if they had never been cleaned. The bed felt as if all the middle springs were toast. When you laid down you pulled to the center as if there was a crater in the center of the bed. Next there quite a few bugs that I had to take care of including spiders, mosquitos, and moths. I did let the front desk know about the grime when we went to grab breakfast from the office (mediocre by the way, I just grabbed coffee) and they did clean the walls, but the bathroom door was still disgusting. Now the big issue came the next night, note the bugs. I noticed something crawling by the bed and killed it. Upon inspection it was a Roach and that I'm not cool with in the least bit. When there is one, there is more, so we packed carefully after inspecting all of our belongings as to not bring one home, we hauled out of there. On the way out I gave the office emergency phone number a call as they are gone by 9 pm. I spoke to the least concerned woman when I told her about the roach. She wanted me to believe that it was not a roach and that it was some other bug she could not name. As if it was somehow possible she was in the room and had seen what I had seen. I informed her that I would be requesting a refund and she said she would talk to me about it the following morning. I informed her the body was in some tissue on the side table if she needed to see it herself. I figured this would be more urgent, but never received a call the next morning. Instead I called them to no answer. I then receive a text that she was not in the office that day and would call me the NEXT day even though she said she would talk to me that morning. I eventually did get a call after 2 pm way past the window she said she'd call me, so that was missed as I was no longer expecting a call. I called back to a no answer and then immediately received an unprofessional in my opinion text letting me know she couldn't talk. I informed her instead of playing a phone tag game. I will instead go through the third party booking agent, as playing phone tag to this degree is ludicrous and the lack of concern is more so. They did after I told them I'm moving on leave me another message declaring that the bug was a stink bug and nothing to worry about. I will post my pictures, so anybody that has the slightest clue as to what a stink bug looks like (Or a simple google search), would know this isnt the case. In summary poor customer service skills, dirty rooms, mediocre breakfast, and above all roaches!

Everything from the view to the service was over the top. Roma is just the best host you good ask for. Our first stay here was 30 years ago, we will be back. The rooms are wonderful and are also keep fresh and new. You and swim or just sit with a bottle of champagne and watch the sunset beautiful.

We recently had our family reunion here over a long weekend and found it to be the perfect location. The Main House is an ideal place to gather for meals, family videos, or just plain relaxing. From the pool, pond, and games on site to the attractions in nearby Galena there is plenty to do for kids and adults alike. This was our first reunion in 7 years and we’ve already decided our next will be here as well.

I sure wish I could write a good review however the beds were lousy! The resort is in a beautiful setting but it looses its charm when you haven’t slept ! The gentlemen at the front desk were very helpful and resourceful. Cannot say that we will ever be back. The shopping in Galena was awesome!

Came with my family to Galena to celebrate my birthday and I am so glad we chose Le Fevre. Beautiful resort with great views and great service. We had booked a cottage and the owner gave us a generous upgrade to the Sunrise View house, which was spacious and gorgeous. I highly recommend this resort & will most certainly return!

The service here was accommodating and outstanding! Our family rented the Luxury Vacation Home and it was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The porch was peaceful. The great room was beautifully enhanced by the floor to ceiling remote controlled fireplace, and the view from the great room and the deck was nothing short of spectacular – Jo Daviess County at its best. There was plenty of room for all of us to gather and still plenty of private areas to hang out. We enjoyed the many acres of land, the tranquil pond, and the close proximately to downtown Galena was certainly a plus. Overall, we give it an A+.

My sister and I met for a sisters day/night in Galena. We picked this place because they allow pets and we wanted to relax in more of a comfortable place than a hotel room. The place was very nice! The pet fee was a little bit higher than I was expecting ($55). However, they did give us a little goodie bag with dog treats and a small toy, which was a very nice touch. Everything was very well kept up and they were very friendly. I thought the fireplace in the cottage we stayed in was gas, but was pleasantly surprised to find out it was a real fire place! We did not get to enjoy the fire pit and seating or the pond and pavilion because it was a little chilly for that. However, we really liked the place and I will be back for a friends weekend when we can enjoy the fire pit!
