Dancing Bears Inn

This property is filthy (not cleaned before our arrival), dust of ages on the floors. Cobwebs in the windows and in all corners, bins full. We did not care touch the old coffee machine with leftover coffee visible. We (party of six) left with empty stomachs after one night, as no breakfast was available in spite of what was stated on the website. Afterwards, they tried to charge our credit cards for two more nights. Daylight robbery here!

This place is the worst I’ve ever stayed in, by far! The outside was dilapidated and overgrown with weeds, and strewn with litter. The cabins were rotting, and some of the outside furniture was broken. It looks closed, or like it should be condemned! The curtains in my room didn’t close all the way and anyone could see right in. I stripped the second bed, which revealed a nasty, stained mattress, and hung the sheets over the bent curtain rod for privacy. All of the lampshades were so dirty they looked fuzzy. The blinds in the bathroom and sink area were so dirty they appeared brown. I refused to bring my luggage into the room for fear that I’d take bugs home, or there would be rats in my room at night and I would need to leave quickly. There was no other place to stay in town! The bathroom sink was dirty. I had to use a pillowcase for a table cover on the nightstand because it was so dirty. Doors were scratched and dented, and the connecting door was so flimsy that, even locked, I could push it and see into the next room. Bathroom floor was filthy and the toilet leaked. Cracked walls and ceiling. No coffee maker or microwave. There was a full size refrigerator that was scratched and dented and looked like a reject from someone’s house. Worst thing was I was charged more than $685 for three nights, but the rooms rent now for $53 per night. Management does not answer emails and phone messages. I left my camera battery and charger there and have emailed them twice with no answer. I even offered to pay shipping if they send it back to me, but no response.

The ladies running the Inn were wonderful. We were leaving before they opened for coffee so they gave us a ziploc with filters & grounds. Our room was very clean and spacious, bed & pillows were comfortable but we couldn't get the tv to work. No worries tho, we were tired from a long day of driving. The only bad thing was parking and the lack of it. Would recommend this over all 3 little motels in this area.
