Winnetu Oceanside Resort at South Beach

My husband and I and our best friends celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at the Winnetu. It is such a special place for us as our first visit was our 10th anniversary, and the magic of the Winnetu keeps bringing us back. We always go in September, and I think that's part of the magic as it is off season and you feel like you someday you have South Beach all to yourself. The staff are incredible, the Dunes restaurant is one of the best on the island, and the services and amenities leave you wanting for nothing. We hate to leave but feel so well rested and recharged when we go back home. Thank you, Winnetu

We stayed there for a week recently and had another great experience (our fourth time staying here). Everyone we met with who worked there could not have been more gracious and accommodating. The room was spacious and well laid out, the location is perfect, the grounds were beautifully landscaped, and we enjoyed being there. One of the things that struck me on this particular visit was the cleanliness of the resort. Everywhere I looked, from the grounds to the lobby, to the hallways and elevator, and the pool as well as our room, were immaculate. Their team does a phenomenal job treating their guests and keeping the place spotless and running smoothly, and we look forward to returning.

We are well acquainted with luxury hotels and 5-star service, but the genuine, wholesome, and lovely service at the Winnetu sets it apart from other Cape and Island resorts. It is perfection in every little detail. From Tony, a recent college graduate who picked us up at the ferry, to Sam graciously assisting us at check-in and check-out, to Grant, who was moving to Beacon Hill, Boston, in the fall to be closer to his family, helping us with our luggage as we checked out, the vibe was as of a stay at a friend’s estate on the Vineyard, rather than a resort. Friendly, peaceful, and laid back, they left no stone unturned in their effort to provide a personal, perfect experience. The Winnetu is flawless.

What a gem of a place! We have been coming to the Vineyard for years, always renting a house. This year we had limited time so we chose a hotel based on some friends suggestion. They did not steer us wrong. Every single person who works in the resort is joyful and kind. The Dunes restaurant was fantastic. We were there with one of our children and did not partake in the kids club, but it seems amazing and definitely some thing we would look into doing on our next visit. The grounds are beautiful. The pool Is great, and heated! The beach was an easy walk and nice. The shuttle into Edgartown is awesome. This was our first time traveling to the island without a car and we really felt totally fine not having it. We can’t wait to come back, this time With both kids!

The vibe, the atmosphere, everything about Winnetu is wonderful. We stayed in a West Chop room which is super comfortable for a family of 4. My tween said the sleeper couch was super comfortable and my little one loved the pull down bed. Fridge, microwave and stove made breakfast in the room easy. Room is divided by the kitchen area, so the kids had their own TV and we had ours, which was perfect. An easy 5 min drive to Edgartown and 10 min to Oaks Bluff, it really is the perfect location. The kids club will take the kids for 4 hours in the evening (so we go to relax and have a quiet dinner) and our girls loved it! I have to mention on our last day I left a ring, and housekeeping and the hotel staff went out of their way to find me and return it. Spectacular service. I can’t wait to return!

I travel quite a bit, but rarely leave TripAdvisor reviews. However, the service I received at the Winnetu Resort has been absolutely exceptional. The way the resort team took care of my family and me was just amazing. From calling the week before we arrived to see what we needed to offering a complimentary car for us to use to see the island, everything has been phenomenal. Special thanks to Anika and Angela at the front desk as well as Tim and Benny on the concierge team as well as the gentlemen driving the Winnetu shuttle to Edgartown. These ladies and gentlemen are assets to this resort and made our stay amazing. What a fantastic experience and amazing way to begin summer for our family. The Winnetu is so nice and beautiful. The rooms and resort are some of the cleanest I’ve ever seen. The resort includes an activity center and area that has so many things to do that you really don’t ever have to leave the grounds if you don’t want to.
