The White Lady Wetherspoon

Rude doesn't even begin to describe the attitude. Every time I come into this bar, I'm greeted with the same stoney-faced bar staff. I think it's a management issue, as not everyone that is unfortunate enough to work in this bar can be a surly, nasty individual. The duty managers seem to instill a 'treat people with contempt' approach. Maybe they are worried about losing their jobs, but I'm sure there are plenty of nicer places to work. Don't put up with it guys!

Rooms are spacious with nice size bathrooms. Tea/Coffee facilities in the room. Staff welcoming & helpful. Beds are quite firm but comfortable. Easy bus access (choice of 4) into Edinburgh from outside the hotel - about 20 mins Because the hotel is on the main route from the city to the airport the traffic is constant all night & the double glazing needs some serious upgrading. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room at the back of the hotel. Have stayed on previous occasions & am happy to recommend.

First time we have stopped here and we were not disappointed. Very clean room away from the main road (as requested) The staff were very good and the pub food was great. Bus services to the city centre were regular and still £2. Ideal place to stay and very reasonably priced.

Firstly I'd like to start by saying that the staff were friendly and helpful, the issues we experienced were with the room and it's facilities. On our arrival, although we stated there were only 2 guests staying, we found the sofa bed prepared, one of the bedside lamps wasn't working and the quilt on the bed didn't seem to be the right size. After querying with the staff they explained that all the bed sizes are doubles and the quilts are too, having a double bed at home I would personally not agree with this statement. The beds seem to be queen size, but the quilts were double size, which meant we were not covered enough and unfortunately we did not sleep well on any of the 3 nights we stayed. Although we added an additional two quilts (one of which we took from the sofa bed which then meant the sofa dipped when sat on) due to the windows not being heat retaining and clearly letting in a draft, we were consistently in a near freezing room. After emailing the hotel directly with this query, they did apologise but were not forthcoming with assuming responsibility or resolve and continue to insist double quilts for double beds. The location is good, however might be more suited to those with their own car. We experienced issues in getting back from the city centre each night with the local buses which was disappointing (although it is only 20mins using public transport). We would not recommend this hotel and will not be staying again.

Good hotel in convenient location for city centre (10 mins by bus) and also handy for the airport. Will not hesitate to use again or recommend. Rooms are spacious and meticulously clean. Staff in pub below were very professional and helpful. We ate breakfast in pub which was great.

Lovely room comfortable bed. The staff were really helpful with information about buses and transport. Our only issue was the noise from a beer delivery at 7am, which woke us up. Whilst I understand this a necessity I feel it could have been done a little later when the pub has a hotel attached to it. We ate in the pub and the food was satisfactory really enjoyed the breakfast
