Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh – Royal Mile, an IHG Hotel recensioner

Förmodligen den värsta butiken jag någonsin upplevt. Doften av parfym i rummet var stickande och kvävande. Jag försökte öppna fönstret för ventilation, men luftkonditioneringen utanför fönstret gjorde mycket ljud. Under de kommande tre timmarna eller så höll vi fönstren och dörrarna öppna för ventilation. Den skarpa doften på sängkanten var alltid mycket stark, och det luktade också urin. Det är möjligt att någon kissade i rummet och butiken försökte dölja lukten med för mycket doft. I det här fallet kan du inte avregistrera dig. Verkligen mållös.

Location is great everything is walking distance , staffs are helpful but room is very small, breakfast is very basic (not recommended as it’s expensive and not much option available)

It’s very near royal mile but to get to the hotel with luggage from Edinburgh Waverley station, it can be quite tiring! For a no stairs & few cobble stones route, walk up cockburn street (it’s an uphill slope!), then walk down Blair street, followed by cowgate street. It’s the least painful walk! 😂 We really loved our room. Only issue was that the water drainage was very slow. Nearby food recommendations: Jimmy’s Express (Chinese food).

Hotel is located in the mid point between Edinburgh and the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Edinburgh castle can be reached within 15 - 20 minutes walking distance. Room is not too big but comfortable enough and breakfast is decent, although not much change. There are several at several restaurants located in South Bridge Road, including a Chinese and a Japanese restaurant and a few other Asia restaurants. The Waverley train station is about 15 minutes walking distance away. All-in-all, a good value booking. For visitors looking for hotels nearer to the Royal Mile area, may want to try the Radisson or Ibis hotels.

I think the hotel location is very good, almost touching the royal mile with just few meters away. This hotel is suitable for solo or business travelers as this is an express hotel. The room we got was very small in size 19m2 not suitable for family with a kid. There was no refrigerator in the room. Breakfast was very ordinary with very few options so, I will not suggest to take breakfast at this hotel, in fact people can scout on royal mile for a decent restaurant. Overall, 1 or 2 days should be ok without much hassle but if you are planning to spend some more time then I will not suggest for this hotel. Staff was always helpful and they do the best to guide you for things.

They got the basics spot on: nice clean room, comfy bed, strong wifi, hot water on demand, good no-frill breakfast with Muslim friendly vege sausage on demand. Location was fantastic on Royal Mile, but be wary on trying to walk there from Waverley Train Station because the staircase and street leading to the hotel is a steep climb. Good value for money, 10/10.

Located right in city center. Very close to major attractions. Provide a very convenient hub to visit most of the sites. Staff are polite and helpful. We are very satisfied with the services they provided.

Really nice and affordable. The staff was really warm-hearted and helpful! Breakfast was nice and the room really tidy.

The hotel is decent and a good place to stay. Short walk to the Royal Mile using the alley just beside the hotel and using the same alley to cut down the distance to Waverley Station. I have only 2 things to put as a downside which didn’t really affect us much but it would’ve been better if these has to be improved or altered in the future so that guests would really enjoy a hundred percent staying in this hotel. No 1. The breakfast: it’s all the same every single day. It would have been nicer if at least they change every other day, like menu 1 and menu 2. No 2, they charge 1 pound per luggage if you will leave (as a guest) your luggage. Guests who have stayed should at least be given this little thing as a perk. I know it’s just a pound for a luggage, why not just give it for free since I stayed at the hotel for 6 days right? Nevertheless, it’s a decent place to stay at but I would probably try other hotels when I go back to Edinburgh.
