1552 Boutique Hotel

I attended a two-week course in Eger this summer and stayed at the 1552 Boutique Hotel. It is a small hotel with room names instead of numbers. The names are all of different wines produced in the Eger area. The hotel is in a perfect location, right in the center of the old city. Although my room was small, it was clean and modern and very comfortable. I loved the bathroom, and it had great air-conditioning, which was helpful during a few very hot days. But what makes 1552 so great are the staff. I was treated with great care and respect, from the front desk, to the breakfast servers, and the housekeepers. Everyone at the hotel were friendly and accommodating. The cooked to order breakfast each morning was also a highlight and very delicious, with a variety of different egg dishes along with fresh fruit and baked goods. I have been to Eger before and stayed at 3 other properties, but I have not been cared for as much as I was at 1552. I will definitely be back. I offer my highest recommendations and know that you won't be disappointed.

The hotel is centrally located in the old town, the service is very poor, we were equipped with a map of the city from which nothing can be understood. We stayed in a suite, on the ground floor, the room is not soundproof and you feel like you are sleeping in the middle of the street, one of the worst hotels I have slept in

We stayed here for six nights in January 2022. The hotel is in an excellent location and the staff is very nice. The breakfast portions were so big we asked to leave out some parts as we couldn't eat that much. Unfortunately there were some problems. The cleaning and filling up of the bathroom depended on who was on duty, and though the place seamed to be clean they filled up the shaving set only once and the tap in the bathroom was sometimes cleaned very nicely while on other days it had ugly stains of dried water. While the soundproofing is very good on Friday night the bass came through the windows from a nearby bar what made sleeping difficult. The internet was out or weak few times, though on Tuesday it was great when I had to make a work call for over an hour. Maybe the saddest experience was there was no soap in the toilet, so I had to break the one in the bathroom and bring the half of it there. Also one morning they had a staff meeting/training in the breakfast area during the breakfast which doesn't really accommodate for the guests. Despite all the aforementioned negatives I enjoyed my stay and would be happy to go back and recommend 1552 Hotel if you stay in Eger.

A hotel with fantastic facilities and a wonderful interior. The experience of staying here was disappointing though. For 3 days we did not get a cleaning (but the room was basically clean i must say) only the minibar was filled up and the glasses were changed once. But the biggest problem is that 60 meters away there is a big night club (Hippolit) where every Saturday night from 22:00-05:00 there is a regular party. You can't sleep thanks to the bass. it's like there is a contruction sute next to your head. I am writing this review at 5:00 am as well... very sad, even though it could have been fabulous, as the reviews promised. Fantasztikus adottságokkal bíró hotel, csodalatos belsoepiteszettel. Az elmeny itt megszállni viszont kiábrándító volt. 3 napon keresztul nem kaptunk takaritast (de a szallas alapvetoen tiszta volt!) csak a minibart toltottek es a poharak egy reszet cseréltek. A legnagyobb baj viszont, hogy 60 méterre van egy nagy éjszakai klub (Hippolit) ahol minden szombat este 22:00-05:00-ig rendszeresen buli van. Nem kehet aludni a basszustol, mintha a fejed mellett utvefurnanak. Ezt az értékelést is 5:00-kor irom.. nagyon szomoru, pedig tenlyeg lehet mesés, mint azt az elozetes értékelések igertek.
