Lion Sands - Tinga Lodge

Fantastic. Very close to Shekuza Airport so the transfer took only 10 mins. Beautiful Lodge and fab rooms overlooking Sabi River. We watched elephants , hippos and water Buffulo stop for drinks. The game drives were fantastic even though the weather wasn’t great. Saw all the big 5 and had some wonderful food. Couldn’t fault the service. Our 3rd safari and just as good as the other 2. Highly recommended.

Our stay at Lion Sands Tinga Lodge was wonderful and beyond what we could ever have imagined. Extremely friendly, and welcoming staff. Beautiful luxurious stand-alone villa with top views, including elephant, hippo and even Impalas close to our porch. Or a leopard roaring close by at night. Loved the ambience of the lodge and delicious food on the veranda for breakfast and dinner. Not to forget the absolutely superb game drives. Each of them an experience for itself. Wildlife and nature at its best. Our professional guide Ryan and tracker Reckson exactly knew how to handle the animals with such calmness, and care. Exceptional sunset aperos in the middle of nowhere rounded up the entire safari dream. It indeed was a shame we had to leave this place after 2 days, we could have done much more. This definitely is a reason for coming back. Thank you.

We had booked through Go2Africa to return to River Lodge where we stayed on our last trip but were upgraded to the Hinkwenu Residence at Tinga Lodge. The residence was outstanding - absolutely huge. It had a private garden with sun beds, sofas and a pool. Inside there was a large dining area and lounge, two big bedrooms and bathrooms and even a kitchen for a chef to cook if requested. The lodge is gorgeous and right on the river Sabi so we were able to see elephants, buffalo, hippos amongst other things, across the river while we dined. What really makes this lodge outstanding are the staff. Thank you to the manager Nicole who arranged a boma night for us as we had mentioned how much we loved it at our last stay at River Lodge. Thank you to our butler, Able, for looking after us so well and for being so kind. Thank you to our guide and tracker, Albert and Mish who made sure we saw everything more than once and educated us along the way. Thank you to all the staff, for whom nothing it’s too much trouble and who all great you with a smile and make you feel like part of the family. The food here is outstanding and it was lovely to meet the chefs. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. We loved our stay and will definitely be back in Lion Sands again.

Everything about the lodge was perfect game viewing excellent, our guide and tracker were amongst the best I have worked with. Setting was góod. Only slight niggle food lacked a little bit of sophistication that I think high paying guests would expect

Hotel is in the always lively historical main square with a grand and imposing Cathedral. We had a comfortable and clean room with a view of the square and could easily walk to many of the local main attractions. Staff were very polite and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful with hot food, salad and fruits etc. The lady staff in charge was always cheerful and welcoming to all guests who come for their first meal of the day.

Where to even begin... From the moment we arrived at Lion Sands Tinga Lodge for our honeymoon we felt at home. The staff go out of their way each day to make the experience truly special. The room we stayed in was clean, well kept, and beautiful. The air conditioning worked quite well for how hot it was during our stay. Make sure to keep the mosquito netting up at night cause the room does get a bit buggy but it's hard to avoid that in the bush. The food was delicious and the meal area allows you to connect with other travelers. We loved getting to know the other folks on our drives and at the lodge. The guides and trackers are all extremely knowledgeable and provide a once in a lifetime experience on each drive. The spa was luxurious and serene. I'd recommend anyone that is looking for an elegant, intimate, and informative safari experience to stay at the Tinga Lodge.
