Sunde Fjord Hotel is a charming local hotel, though a bit isolated. It is situated right next to a car ferry, which provides a picturesque setting but also means it’s not close to restaurants or grocery stores. Guests should be prepared for a bit of a journey to find dining options or shops. One notable feature is the open balcony. While this offers great views, it also means that other guests might walk past your room, which could be a privacy concern for some. The bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was good but fairly standard, providing a decent start to the day without anything extraordinary. The hotel also offers shuffleboard and billiards, although we didn’t have time to use these amenities. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat and don’t mind the isolation, Sunde Fjord Hotel could be a great choice.

Our room was not available when we arrived - but they compensated with beer! We had a comfortable bed and slept really well. Dinner was good - chowder - and the staff really nice. Breakfast was so-so. Close to the ferry so easy to leave and travel on. This is definitely just a one night hotel.

Yes, this is an older hotel but the room was very big and had a nice view of the fjord. It was a bit odd that the balcony was shared with all the other hotel rooms, so we really couldn’t have the door open. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Though the buffet deal was good, we opted to get a pizza from the take away at the ferry which was very good!

Stayed here the night of our arrival in Norway. It’s an older hotel and shows it’s age - although our bathroom was fully modernized. The restaurant/bar downstairs was welcoming and seems to be busy with both travelers and locals alike. Food was good. To here I’d a game room as well - we played table shuffleboard and watched some soccer on TV. The morning breakfast was a good introduction to Scandinavian food for me. Next to the ferry dock - great views nearby.

Upon arrival the staff were very welcoming and friendly, this continued throughout our stay. The room was very spacious and clean with amazing views of the fjords. There’s a ferry just opposite if you want to explore other islands which also gives exceptional photo opportunities!

Excellent hotel with a fantastic view. Waking up here was fantastic. Very nice room, the staff are kind and helpfull. Fresh beer on the taps and nice wine available. The food was great, kudos to the kitchen staff!

Sunday Brunch - great deal. Fresh cuts, starters, salad, soup, dinner options, dessert table & coffee. Very popular with the locals. No booking needed. Free parking outside. Will be back soon. Good value.

Check in was quick and easy. The staff were pleasant and were helpful with figuring out the ferry schedule next door. The room was decent sized. It had a shared balcony with chairs and table. It had a nice view of the harbor. The room was clean and well furnished. There was a couch and a medium sized TV, but only a few channels were in English. There was no AC, but one could open the sliding door for ventilation. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean. There were enough outlets for charging. Breakfast was OK - eggs, cheese, bacon, croissants, etc. The restaurant was OK. A very limited menu for dinner. The food was good, it is maybe a 15 minute drive to town.

Wir waren drei nächte in diesem Hotel. Besonders gefallen haben uns die hellen, großen Zimmer und die tolle offene Veranda. Man kann hier wunderschönin der Sonne faulenzen. Die Umgebung ist sehr charmant mit vielen Booten und der Fähre. Die Leute vom Hotel sind alle sehr nett und das Frühstück konnte sich sehen lassen. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt und angesichts dessen, was wir bisher in Norwegen so hatten ist das definitiv das mit dem besten Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.
