We had the best experience. The town is cute and the Inn was straight out of a Hallmark movie. Very quiet and comfortable. The owners were very kind and friendly. You can really make yourself at home. The sweet treats and breakfast were so good! We have zero complaints.

My sister and I spent a lovely night at the Green Tree Inn in charming and historic Elsah, Illinois. This was our first visit to the Inn and we would definitely stay there again. Our hosts Connie and Gary were so accommodating and friendly! We felt like we were guests in a friend's home. The room and beds were very comfortable - we had a delicious homemade breakfast in the morning - and fresh peanut butter cookies upon arrival! I personally also liked the touch of cold water and sodas available at any time:) Thanks for a great stay!

We LOVED our room!!! It had 2 very comfortable queen beds in it, which we like as we sleep better if we have our own bed. The room was spacious, well decorated and welcoming. I love having a bathtub. The owners were extremely friendly and accomodating. She even made us special gluten free muffins for breakfast. We can highly recommend this inn!

We would absolutely stay at The Green Tree Inn again! Connie and Gary were wonderful hosts! We loved everything about the inn: clean and comfortable room, location was amazing, Connie's homemade breakfasts were delicious! We purchased one of her cookbooks so we could continue to enjoy her yummy recipes. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer!

My husband and I were going down for our Anniversary and it was the first time my husband had ever stayed at a B & B The owners were so warm & inviting the amenities were exceptional and the food was excellent. and the Inn is so quaint You should see

Great venue, perfectly located in a quiet setting between Alton and Grafton on the river road. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Afternoon sweets… yum. Lots to do in the area as well as in Elsah. Museum next door to the Green Tree that makes for an educational start to your day. If you enjoy Frostie root beer you can get one at the Elsah general store as well as other drinks or treats from the past. Thoroughly enjoyable hosts with great stories. We shall return.

Clean rooms and comfy beds. Nice towels and bedding. Breakfast and treats are provided and are delicious. Hosts are very nice and have a wealth of information they can provide to you. Enjoyed our weekend so much. Common area with porches available.

Although just back from a tiring trip themselves, could not have asked for more hospitable and accommodating hosts. Room and bed were spotless and comfortable. Inn was quiet and food was plentiful and delicious! Hot and cold drinks and provided throughout the stay. Visit was enhanced by a program at the nearby Farley Music Hall and I would suggest checking there or Principia College for an easy evening activity. If you prefer not to venture out, cozy up by the fireplace to watch tv, listen to provided cds, or read and relax. Special dietary requests are considered. A ground level room is available if stairs are a concern.

Our 2025 New Year's Eve stay at Green Tree Inn of Elsah was truly one for the books! The quaint town and picturesque scenery immediately made us feel right at home the minute we arrived. Connie and Gary welcomed us with open arms, and to our delight, the day's sweet treat was already ready to enjoy. Our room was incredibly spacious and immaculately clean, adding to the comfort of our stay. The beautiful Christmas decor kept us in the holiday spirit as we continued to enjoy the night. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely amazing. We had the best time recapping our previous night while enjoying the delicious food provided. It was a fantastic experience that left us eager to return. We will definitely be back, and we plan to bring friends along next time! We simply cannot wait for our next stay at The Green Tree Inn!
