Eratap Beach Resort recensioner

This is a highly recommended small resort about 30 minutes drive from town. Our accommodation was a spacious two bedroom villa with a grass area larger than my own backyard. We hardly used the air conditioning as fans were usually sufficient to keep the rooms cool. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the manager, who accompanies guests to their villa after a friendly chat about the resort. All staff were friendly and happy to help with any matters. A great feature of this resort is the ease of using the facilities. Compared to larger resorts, you don’t need to sign for pool towels or water sports equipment. Just take something, use it for as long as you need and bring it back – so easy. We attempted paddle boarding for fun. They also have kayaks, surfboards, body boards, snorkelling equipment and mountain bikes (with helmets). We often enjoyed a petanque game on the way back to our villa after finishing a pool swim. They also have a good system for checking your daily resort expenses for food so there’s no bill shock or accidental additions on checkout. The food is top quality and fresh with a wide menu selection. The chef and his crew do a very good job for the remote location. There’s a daily bus to take you into town and the two hours before pickup is surprisingly sufficient for shopping and sight seeing. We recommend making the most of the daily resort activities. They have a weekly visit to Eratap village, where a lot of staff live. Other weekly activities include a plantation ‘bush’ walk, a hands on cooking demonstration and a night time fire show.

Eratap Resort is amazing! Chelsea and her team could not look after us better. The staff are beautiful, so lovely, friendly and helpful. Our villa is very spacious and immaculately clean. The location is perfect, away from the hustle and bustle of Port Villa but only a 20 minute drive away from the city or the airport. You can snorkel straight off the beach in front of your villa. We even had a turtle lay a nest on our part of the beach! Eratap has been heaven on earth.

I stayed at the resort for five days for a friend’s 40th and it was the best holiday I have ever had in my life. The resort is stunningly beautiful, the rooms are absolutely incredible and the view is to die for. You can literally walk off the beach and be swimming in the reef. The staff are the most lovely people, everything you could ever want is done for you, they have a pick-up and drop-off for the airport, they will take you to town, one day when we were hanging around waiting for our tour they noticed and offered to call them for us. Everyone is just fantastic, and the food is magnificent! You can go get a kayak anytime and head out to the nearby island, or just relax in the amazing pool. There is entertainment and activities every day. I nearly cried when it was time to leave, it was such a magical experience!

This is the most beautiful resort we have been trying to get in here for quite a while and been lucky to be able to get one of the waterfront villas. The villas were absolutely spacious with us in one side and the kids on other side with a small entrance separating both sides. The beds were comfortable which makes you stay even better. We loved the pool as it was the same depth all the way through so you could stand up anywhere and what was amazing as you were overlooking the ocean whilst in the pool. There is a cold water fountain at the pool and also a phone if you’re wanting snacks delivered whilst you’re relaxing around the pool area, what more could you want? What impressed me was the way they have incorporated a gift to you of a branded water bottle so there’s no plastic bottles left around the resort. What a fantastic idea that you can go and refill your water bottle anywhere within the resort at no cost. The grounds are kept immaculately by the ground staff around the resort who also make sure you stay is private and quiet. There is a lovely tennis court and a small shop where you can buy some gifts, ice blocks, cold drinks and the ladies are always welcoming here at the shop. You can also grab a bike or a surfboard at any time. We grabbed a few bikes and rode around to the other side of the island through some tracks. The staff are always friendly and obliging which also makes your stay a positive stay. Pascal is a breath of fresh air and so very helpful with anything you need. Breakfast is included in your stay to go and choose a seat of your liking and look over the beautiful ocean BUT we quick for the fresh muffins baked daily they are delicious and go fast! At dinner time and lunchtime you could choose your meals and again choose where you sit. No need to book because there is always a seat available for the amount of guests staying at this beautiful resort. We hired a car for four days and did a bit of sightseeing ourselves which was great. It is not hard to get around Vanuatu. It was unfortunate though that the earthquake had happened not long before we arrived at Vanuatu so there was a lot of devastation with buildings down and building damage. Lucky the resort was not damaged. The city was closed unfortunately and some of the roads were damaged but this did not dull the people in Vanuatu with making you feel welcome. We did feel numerous earth tremors during our stay which were scary for us never experiencing such a thing. If you have been thinking whether to go to Era Tap please do it. It is the most amazing resort and you’ll have a lovely relaxing time. If you are after something like extreme water sports etc you can find these outside of the resort this resort is made for relaxation and quiet times for family and friends and we loved it. There is only one other resort that I would put on par with Era Tap and that is Nanuku Resort in Fiji if you were looking for somewhere different to go of the same quality

Home after our 4th stay at the Eratap Resort in Vanuatu. Again we just had a wonderful stay and cannot speak more highly of the resort. The staff are fantastic, the facilities are great and the food is awesome. From the friendly greeting at the airport to the waves and smiles (and tears) when we left the whole trip was great! Thanks to Pascalle and all of the staff for another memorable holiday!

It was the perfect balance of relaxation with everything to do right at your front door. Loved the privacy this resort has to offer, yet so many opportunities to get some amazing magical adventures in as well. Including relaxed local village activities which were enjoyed by the whole family, and really wonderful snorkeling at the resort (20m from our bedroom door!) as well as access to snorkelling at the local private islands. The perfect holiday destination for us

If you are looking for a relaxing, friendly place to stay which offers a five star service. Then the Eratap Beach Resort is the place to stay. We had the one bedroom beachfront villa with everything you would expect for a luxury holiday and wonderful ocean views from the bed or from one of the two outside lounges. Food at the restaurant was excellent and being gluten free, nothing was too hard. As it is a smaller resort compared to other countries (like Fiji) the small number of staff get to know you and become good friends during your stay. Many thanks to the Chef and staff at the restaurant. Lots of activities to do or just do nothing, the choice is yours. If having trouble to decide what to do a wealth of experience is available at the front desk. Spa was great experience, having never had a massage before, very relaxing and professional. Pool and grounds well maintained without the overcrowding you have at larger resorts. We even had the pool to ourselves most of the time. With the restaurant staff delivering food and cocktails when ordered by pool telephone. Day trips and tours by boat or bus were available and recommend the picnic on castaway island. Beautiful beach and great snorkelling. Overall the best resort we have ever stayed and didn’t want to leave after 10 days of Vanuatu hospitality. Already missing everyone and looking forward to our next trip back.

As a first time visitor to Vanuatu, Eratap Beach Resort was nothing short of magnificent and left a lasting impression of joy for Vanuatu and it's people. Just a 3.5 hour flight from Sydney and you are in another world. The resort is intimate and you often feel as if you are the only guests. From the ease of airport pick up, to the endless smiles from the staff and the access to kayaks, stand up paddle boards, boats to near by snorkelling islands, as well as the perfect snorkelling conditions right outside the villa, the resort never failed to deliver. The water was so warm and the evening rain a welcome cool down. The food at the restaurant was so varied, we found something new to try every night. The included breakfast was delicious too. Loved the village walk around with Mak, who generously shared his village story and showed us his family home too. The gym and yoga classes were fun as well and we even used the freely available bikes. You can do nothing or everything and by the end of the holiday you will feel spoilt, and totally relaxed and love Vanuatu as much as we did. Thanks especially to Maki and Mel and the whole team for looking after us and having a laugh and making us excited to return soon!

Tropical Paradise. Simple yet beautiful resort. We stayed in a honeymoon villa- gorgeous! The resort boat will take you to any of the surroundings reefs anytime, what a treat. The food was delicious every meal. And the staff were so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely go back!

Chose Eratap via Luxury Escapes (LE) based on the excellent customer service reviews - not to mention everything else in the positive reviews - but based on our travel experiences, the resorts with the best customer service reviews are often the best overall - particularly when things don't go to plan. My father in law passed away a week before our departure and our travel insurance policy was a bit sketchy when it came to pre-existing illnesses, which his was. Looked through our T&C's again and realised there was little I could do. When reaching out to Etatap to cancel however, Louisa had no hesitation in seeking advice from Tony to see if they could help us from losing all we had paid for the accommodation. It would have been easy for them to palm us off to LE or travel insurance and be done with it as it was way past any fair cancellation date. Fair call too as being a small business owner myself I would not have been upset had they done this. They made a suggestion which was acceptable to LE and more than acceptable to me as I wasn't really expecting anything. LE in turn offered us credit less a small penalty on the basis of Louisa and Tony's input. LE might have been as compassionate but the actions of Louisa and Tony really gave them no choice. I can't thank them enough for their excellent customer service and more importantly compassion and hope they are rewarded tenfold. Please stay here if you get a chance.

We stayed at Eratap mid-December 2024 and as there are plenty of reviews telling what facilities the resort offers we won't repeat those other than to agree with the positive reviews. As a couple, our experience at the resort was flawless, honestly we can only find very positive things to say! Great facilities, awesome sea, beach, dinners on the beach, super clean, quiet and relaxing environment (almost adults only which was greatly appreciated), really friendly and efficient resort staff (hi Maki, Melanie, Natasha!). Also, we were there for the earthquake and we're really grateful to Tony, Louisa and Pascalle for their help and flexibility during that difficult time. We've stayed at a number of adults-only resorts in the Mediterranean over the years and we rate Eratap as equal to the best of those in terms of space and privacy. Tony, Louisa, we're still checking out the earthquake 'radar' but nevertheless, we're already talking about coming back! John & Natasha

Apart from the beautiful surrounds, comfortable villas and delicious food, the thing that makes staying at Eratrap Beach Resort most memorable is the staff. They are awesome. We had a lovely relaxing holiday here. We snorkeled, SUP’d, kayaked, surfed, played tennis and enjoyed the daily morning activities the resort put on. Will definitely return.

The resort is beautiful, the location is great. Luisa and Toni are great hosts. The villas are beautiful and the food is top class. All our wishes were fulfilled. Special thanks to Pascalle who helped us organize the onward journey to Sando after Air Vanuatu went bankrupt. Air Taxi worked great. We have been to Eratap four times and it always lives up to our (high) expectations. This time we went to celebrate a significant birthday and invited some friends to come with us. They loved it as much as we do and raved about the resort location, the size and privacy of the villas, the range of activities, the fabulous food, and of course the warmth of the Eratap team. Special thanks to Pascale, chef Todd, Melanie, and Maki for making my birthday dinner so memorable. Eratap truly is a special place. All of our group are talking about when they are coming back and one couple have already booked for September!
