Villa Maria-Syros

This place is magical! As soon as I arrived, Kostas and Elisa made me feel like family. The first thing I did when I got to my room was to extend my stay as long as I could. I met a lovely couple who has been going back there for years now and I understand why. I will definitely go back as soon as I can. From the incredible rooms (I wanna decorate my own house like their place) to the terrasse, the roof with a view and the people, this is officially my favourite place on earth. I took a cooking class with Elisa which made it even more special. Kostas even helped me with my laundry. This will 100% make your experience of Greece better!

We attended the Greek Day Cooking class and it was fabulous ! Learning about different foods/herbs from different islands and mainland was so interesting. We cooked 7 Greek recipes and had lots of fun in Elisa's big, beautiful kitchen ending in a glorious Greek feast! A must do while visiting Syros !

Elisa and Kostas have created the most wonderful place to stay. Carefully renovated to provide a comfortable, beautiful, relaxing house, our room (Narkissos) was all we could have asked for. If you stay, join a cookery class (we did the 8 day course), you won't regret it.

We stayed with Kostas and Elisa for three nights and we wanted to stay for a lot longer. Our room had stunning views of the harbour and the clear blue skies over the harbour. Our hosts gave us a great orientation to the island and we found their advice to be spot on. The beach at Kini was outstanding. And there were several others that looked gorgeous and which we would have visited if we had time. We travelled on the local bus (1.60 euros) and found it easy and comfortable. Kostas recommended a couple of tavernas and we found the food to be delicious. We joined Elisa's cooking and wine tasting class. It was a wonderful way to learn more about the cuisine of Syros as well as the rest of Greece. Elisa shared many cultural tidbits as we cooked and we followed the cooking with a leisurely dinner, paired with Greek wines that lasted into the evening. I highly recommend a visit to Syros, definitely staying at Villa Maria. And if you like to cook, definitely join Elisa's class. It's a highlight.

Villa Maria Syros is fantastic. Kostas is so helpful and provided so many great recommendations of Things to do around the island. The room and the house in general were amazing. I would highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Syros.

I travel Greece from many years and in many places I have my favorite accomodation. Villa Maria will be definitly my home away from home on Syros island for the years to come! I loved everything: the central location in Ermopouli, the great retauration of the 18th Century buildind, and the tasteful interior decoration, More, the warm welcome offered by Kustas and Eliza was a special plus. If you have the chance to join Eliza's cooking class, don't miss to attend...a great experience followed by an amazing dinner. I hope to be back again soon......
