Diogenis Hotel

It's the 3rd time I have stayed here and cannot fault it. The room was superb, the hotel is spotlessly clean, the breakfast is lovely and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated right opposite where the boat docks so no taxi required. It's only 5 minutes walk from the centre of the town

We arrived at the aegenball festival. We stayed at the hotel for a week. The hotel is beautiful, tidy and renovated. It is near to the port and the city center. They provide a delicious breakfast, varied and plentiful. The room is clean, beautiful, with a view of the sea.The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Miltiades. If we come to Syros again, we will only stay at this hotel. I recommend to everyone.

What a great place for our three day stay on this exceptional island. Untouched by the modern world Located with sea views, 100m from the ferry The rooms are immaculate, clean and well appointed. Small balcony and great views Lovely breakfast area and lounge Niki on reception was a gem, ensuring thru her great advice that we saw the very best of the town and island Thank you all

We paid a latish evening stop at the Diogenes Cafe within the hotel for an after meal Coffee. Menu was decent for drinks and staff could’ve been friendlier but were efficient. Coffee was average and prices on a par with the area. We sat to sample a Frappe and a Cappuccino which were freshly made.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Syros and the Diogenis Hotel was a wonderful location - literally across the street from the ferry port. Hermoupolis is a thriving town, that doesn't appear to have been discovered by Americans yet. Many good restaurant and beach options. Strongly recommend driving around the island to check out the beach towns - easily done in a day. The staff were so helpful and friendly, directing us to good restaurants and rental car services. A few suggestions - request a room with a view of the port on the 2nd floor or higher. Much better views on the upper floors. And even with the wonderful views, plan on closing the windows at night due to the noise from the port. Good news - the windows cancel out the noise and the rooms are air conditioned. Also we found the breakfast to be sub-par - would have preferred a larger selection of pastries (though the breakfast cakes were delicious), fresh juice (vs. watery bottled stuff), and better coffee. The bathrooms are small, more European size - but more than adequate. In summary, we would stay at the Diogenis again in a heartbeat because of the location and the quality service.
