Castro Hotel Syros

This new boutique hotel in Syros, a dreamy island in the Cyclades, is where you want to stay if you’re a fan of comfortable beds, gourmet breakfasts, proximity to outstanding restaurants and shopping, as well as crystal clear blue water for swimming and gazing. The staff is top notch and I’d also recommend the treatments and hammam in the tiny spa. Excellent value for the price.

We recently stayed at Castro Hotel in Ermoupoli for two nights during our two-week Greek vacation. The hotel is beautiful and well decorated. The bedroom had an extremely comfortable bed and a nice dressing area. Staff was exceptional, from the front desk, to housekeeping, to the restaurant. Ermoupoli should be explored, as it is a beautiful area with many things to see. We would definitely return, both to Syros and the Castro Hotel.

Hidden gem, only a year old yet established value in the making, must-visit, highly recommended. A palatial property in Ermoupoli, the heart of Syros (capital of the Cyclades) with a prime location, all points of interest are within walking distance or can be reached with a short car ride. The architecture and decor of the hotel and rooms is impressive. Beautiful chandeliers, ceiling paintings, woodwork, impressive staircase. There is a relaxing patio with an olive tree and lavender bushes. Mediterranean city trip feeling but also perfect for a (mid) week stay. We stayed for four nights while island hopping in the Greek Cyclades. Accessibility: Half an hour by domestic flight from Athens, one hour and 15 minutes by ferry to Naxos, approx. 10 minutes by taxi from Syros airport. Beautiful rooms. We recommend the Castro Prestige Suite (the flagship of the Castro Hotel). The room is large and has ultra comfortable beds, mattress and pillows. Extra blankets are provided. We slept wonderfully here. The bathrobes are super soft. The bathroom is a ballroom. Two sinks (ideal for couples). Shower and bath big enough for two people. Separate toilet. The wardrobe is sufficiently large. Safe is present. As well as all necessary bathroom facilities and products (including bubble bath). There is a television, sitting area, small desk. The large terrace overlooking the famous Church of Agios Nikolaos is an added value. Waking up to the ringing bells and having a morning coffee on this terrace is an unforgettable experience. Extensive minibar and your personal preferences are taken into account (it is best to inform the hotel in advance). The restaurant in the cellar serves a tasty breakfast (included in the room price) as well as à la minute dishes (menu). Delicious and strong coffee. Fresh orange juice. Recommendation for improvement: earlier start of the breakfast (now 8.30AM); early breakfast request is possible if communicated beforehand to the reception. Castro Hotel collaborates with Ousyra restaurant, hotel guests receive a free bottle of wine. The spa and wellness facilities are unique in the basement with vaulted ceilings. We booked the 'exclusive spa day' package (perfect for couples, romantic experience, duration: 4 hours): Sparkling wine and fruit platter as a welcome gift on arrival, afternoon tea and snacks (savoury and sweet), hammam (with face, body, hair detox masks), full body relaxing massage and a facial treatment per person, use of the hot tub (Roman bath). Shower, bathrobes, slippers are provided. The aromatherapy is a nice touch. Relaxing background music. The room was ultra clean. Mood lighting with candles and lanterns. The massage therapist is an artiste, thank you! We highly recommend this experience. The staff is welcoming, helpful, communicative, flexible. Excellent service. Good language knowledge. Great recommendations and suggestions for attractions, excursions and activities. We felt like home. We felt very safe in the hote

This hotel exceeded our expectations. It’s located in the heart of Hermoupolis. The interior design is modern and minimal (they have taken care of every detail). The room had a king size bed, with very comfortable mattress and pillows. In addition, I can’t forget the smell of the sheets and towels, it was for another planet!! The bathroom was, very bright, because of the big windows that existed and had satisfying amenities like body lotion, conditioner etc. The room had local delicacies (loukoumia) as a welcome gift. In addition, they offered us a free bottle of wine in a nearby restaurant. This Italian restaurant (Ousyra) was very nice, too. Even though we prefer buffet breakfast, here the a La cart choices (from which you can choose whatever you like as many times as you want), accompanied by a mini buffet with cold cuts, bread selections, croissants, cake, fresh squeezed orange juice etc. is totally fulfilling. Try not to miss the mascarpone-berries pancakes!! The staff and especially the girl in the reception was notably polite, friendly and helpful. She even allowed us to leave the room 1 hour later from the check-out. Last but not the least, the day we had check-out they let us stay in the lobby due to the heavy rain and of course let us leave our luggage in the reception both in the check-in and check-out. We will visit it again for sure! P.S. they had Christmas decorations already!!

A wonderful boutique hotel, in the best location. It is near to beautiful Vaporia and urban beach. It has great and friendly staff, anticipating the needs of the customers, to have the best possible experience. Very grateful for their support and advice. Very nice design of the room and very good, diversified breakfast. From time to time, there is even live music in their lovely breakfast salon. Definitely, we recommend it.
