Auberge de Charme les Dunes d´or

Our stay here was arranged by our tour company. The setting in fabulous with spacious grounds, 2 pools, a really Moroccan feel! The room was large in Moroccan style. It was clean, beds comfortable, and the a/c worked great! The stay would have been perfect except that the dinner and breakfast were sub par. It was a crowded and slow buffet for both meals and they seemed to run out of many dishes. Flies were abundant in the dining area especially. Wifi was poor.

We sent 2 groups to this hotel in April and the rooms were uncleaned, the fridges didn't work and smelt the rooms out, the bathrooms were awful and hadn't been cleaned with calced taps and scum around the bases of the taps, the rooms were neglected with sand covering the flooring. To add insult to injury, I went there during the first week in May only to be met with the news the hotel has given our 2 rooms away that had previously had the bookings confirmed! We were very lucky to find another hotel and as it happened a superior hotel just 1km away. We will never send another group to this awful hotel and nor will I return to a destination we had once enjoyed.

I really liked this hotel- one of the better ones when staying in Morocco. While the internet reception/wifi was unreliable the overall experience was great here. Stayed in a 3 bed room with two larger queen beds and one smaller single bed (room 80 in the back part of the hotel), very comfortable bed with soft pillows, slept amazing! Shower was nice with the right amount of pressure and heat. Dinner was delicious- Burr Burr Pizza. Location is wonderful with sand dunes in your backyard, pools, tons of sun bathing chairs, outdoor couches, of course the only downside is that there will be sand everywhere. I saw reviews complaining about the sand in rooms and it’s not like there is a mountain of sand in the rooms but it’s impossible to remove every grain of sand from spaces- keep expectations realistic it’s still a very nice and clean hotel!

This property could have been cool in its heyday, but it hasn't been kept up since. There was no one at the desk when we checked in or out. Our room was dirty and dusty and cold. The much-needed heater was so loud (the filter was probably full of sand and dust) that it kept us awake all night. The dining room was full of (I think 5?) cats (who jumped up on seats and sat under tables). Dinner was not good. There were no towels in the room--I needed to go fetch some for my husband's shower, only to learn upon my return there was no hot water. The toilet didn't flush--which was a problem since he had gastro issues due to the food. Apparently, the water issues were affecting a large part of the hotel as other guests were complaining. If you sat under a router near the front desk, there was a tad of wifi. Breakfast was nowhere to be found at 8:00am start, so we left with our guide at our 8:30am departure time. Other than that... Can't believe our tour company booked us here.

A beautiful hotel. A gem in the middle of desert. The location is amazing. Step out to beautiful sand dunes. The hotel has two swimming pools. Our room was very big , comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good - typical Moroccan breakfast of lots of pastries. Dinner was very nice too.

The location, right at the edge of the dunes, couldn’t be better. And our room, in the new section, was enormous and very comfortable. There are two swimming pools, but both were too cold to swim in. Unfortunately, the added space means they cater to bus tours, and their dining facilities have not kept pace. Dinner was a madhouse, and the food was cold and overcooked. Breakfast was a bit better, but the food still left something to be desired. One thermos of coffee — really? Finally, it’s understandable that WiFi isn’t stellar, but don’t advertise what you don’t have.
