I am unsure whether to direct my disappointment towards TripAdvisor customers/reviewers for giving this hotel a 4 1/2 rating out of 5 or towards TripAdvisor itself for ranking it as the #2 hotel in Euless, Texas. It is possible that some reviewers receive compensation to write positive experiences. Alternatively, the issue could be with my own high expectations. The photos of La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham DFW Airport West - Euless on TripAdvisor and online do appear nice, but once inside, the appeal diminishes. The interior looks and feels semi-outdated and old [not terrible, but just doesn’t feel fresh, like you’d expect from a hotel] from the lobby to the halls and the room I booked, which was a Non-Smoking, 1 King Bed, Deluxe Mobility Accessible Family Suite priced at $184/night, which I also found overpriced. There are several areas in the hotel, such as the swimming pool, entrance doors, and random locations, that show signs of rusting wear, peeling paint, peeling wallpaper, and even missing ceiling vents. The specific room/suite I stayed in is average. It has all the listed amenities, but not everything is in working order or accessible. For example, the room states that it comes with Cable TV and Premium Movie Channels, but I was unable to access any of them. I could only tune into one station. Additionally, there was no answer when I called the front desk, and I didn't want to search for an employee at that late hour. Here are the pros and cons of my stay: Pros: - Not terrible - Amenities stocked - Two* A/C units, both work great - Good shower water pressure - Bathtub included - Water gets very hot quickly, so caution is advised, especially with children - The mini fridge*, mini microwave*, both* air conditioning units, hair dryer, iron, sofa bed*, door locks, and one out of two* TVs are functional and working - The king* size bed is soft and comfy, and I had no trouble falling asleep - Free breakfast with a variety of options to choose from - Non-Smoking - The hotel in general is quiet Cons: - $184/night is overpriced, especially considering that The Renaissance Hotel, which is owned by Marriott and has modern, well-lit rooms, charges the same rates and is located just a block away - Dim, semi-dated interior - Unable to access cable* TV or Premium Movie* Channels on either television - Wet bar* sink does not work - Several cosmetic issues, such as rusty and/or missing ceiling vents, peeling paint on entrance door, and peeling wallpaper in some hallways - Swimming pool had foam floating in it last night, although it was gone this morning - Occasional lingerers near the main front entrance - Parking lot is almost always full. *specific to Family Suite booking
