Reflections Evans Head - Holiday Park

We paid a premium for what was described as a premium site. Double what we’ve paid elsewhere. It had no slab or even mesh matt, just dirt. There was nothing premium about our site. Very disappointing. Facilities and service was okay but nothing to write home about it.

We loved everything about the caravan park & Evans Head itself! Facilities were excellent, park was manicured & not too busy. Big sites, restaurants & clubs nearby. Could walk everywhere. Bush walks & beaches were spectacular! Thankyou!

A large and well laid out park with everything you need for either a short or long stay. The amenities are clean, the laundry has everything and there are plenty of clothes lines as well. It was good to see that the clothes lines were over concrete and not dirt or sand. The sites are a good size and you don’t feel like that you are hemmed in altogether

Friendly staff, reasonable sized park with variety of full shade, part shade or no shade sites. Amenities clean good hot water pressure. Can walk to Evans Head shops, restaurant nearby and cafe, walk to tavern. Lovely area. Reasonable stay, but a bit pricey for a tent site without the member discount.

We had been excitedly anticipating this holiday for a year. Had booked a premium cabin at great expense for this last week in January having seen them this time last year whilst visiting Evans. Unfortunately my husband contracted covid 6 days before but was through it so we thought we could still go. However the day before leaving 2 more of us had covid. I rang the park wanting to advise them and to amend/ rebook for April school holidays. No one answered. Left message. Hours later someone called me back to say that due to their peak holiday period conditions I couldn’t amend or get a credit or a refund. This was considered a cancellation and all money forfeited. I said I don’t want to cancel. I want to change the booking. And as I was required to FULLY pay this 60 days out this was a loss of just under $3500. No. Apparently from 59 days before arriving and after fully paying this cannot be amended, credited or refunded. At no point when I booked this via the phone on Feb 1 2023 was I told the terms & conditions- especially this little gem. I was advised I could email Head Office & plead my case- but that they were unlikely to change their mind on this policy. I was then told that it was mine and fully paid for so why not come anyway as there are no covid restrictions. I replied that I work in Disability and I can’t work with covid so there are. And that the government strongly advise staying home for at least 5 days. And that 7 hours in a car from Sydney and then just being cooped up in a small cabin wasn’t what we had in mind for our summer beach holiday. She said no that won’t work. The lady then had the gall to ask if I wanted to rebook for next year and pay the first deposit of over $500!!! Hell no. I won’t be staying at any Reflections Holiday park ever. I will not recommend them to family, friends or strangers! Even the small motels I had booked to stay in on the way up and back with their 100% no refund policy (that I did know about) provided credit for me. Yet Reflections could not because it’s “peak”.

One of our favourite parks. We like the dog friendly old section near the bowling club... it's less expensive & more quiet than the riverside. A couple of things to be aware of though... park under the trees at the risk of them being the nightly roost for Rainbow Lorrikeets, the bins were overflowing stinky & maggoty, there's no laundry in the amenities for that section rather the closest is further away adjacent to the ensuite section and dump point.

This park is huge, we paid for a deluxe river view cabin at $376 a night, we stayed 5 nights. Quite expensive we thought for a caravan park, we did indeed have a river view from our cabin, across a public car park, the river view was obscured most of the time by cars and camper vans stopping to take in the view and fish. The walk way from the cabin to the breakwater is very pretty but again its public land. The park facilities are ok, a nice children's playground but no swimming pool and the river is very fast / tidal flowing so children need very close supervision if not adult participation. The cabin itself was very clean and everything needed was provided, the beds were comfortable but the beds were made up with triple sheeting and the blankets used were not freshly laundered. The internet was none existent, a working holiday made quite difficult as we needed to hot spot wifi. Free to air tv channels are provided although a Foxtel box is installed, it's not connected. This is not a park we would choose a second time for this price and these facilities.

HUGE park, great location, but...... Kids (very young and old) were flying around on bikes and skateboards at night time. Was a bit dangerous in the dark. Good for groups as there were lots of gazebos full of people and music. Not the place for a quiet, peaceful time at the beach. Amenities were dated but usually clean. Seemed to be lacking in quantity given the number of people there. Beautiful spot though.

Stayed in cabin and it was excellent, very comfortable and clean .The park is clean and spacious and has beach,shops,restaurants all walking distance there is no need for your vehicle.Park is gated and secure with security codes and boom gates.Amenities are clean and functional (stayed at park before in campervan ).
