The Globe

Room 1 was freshly painted and enormous with sitting space and plenty of cupboard and drawer space as well as a mantelpiece and side table to put things like phones and chargers. The bed was huge and so comfortable. The bathroom was also large and efficient with a ledge for sponge bags and toothbrushes. Breakfasts were relaxed and delicious. Chloe the breakfast waitress looked after us very well. We had dinner with a few friends one evening and the food was interesting and tasty and Chloe the dinner waitress looked after us equally well! Folk Club on Tuesday evening was also highly enjoyable.

We stayed for two nights at the end of September for a family wedding nearby. We arrived on Friday 27th and were really pleased that our request for a room in the main building had been accepted and we had a room next to the one we had stayed in last time. The room was very cosy and had a lovely big bed with a view over the high street. Very nice staff and lovely service. We didn’t have breakfast this time as our plans didn’t include it but last time the breakfast was great. We were able to walk to the local restaurant The Galley on the Friday evening as it is a minute walk away and then collapsed into bed after a fantastic dinner. We had a stroll around Topsham the following morning before leaving for the wedding and returning late that night. Had a lovely relaxed Sunday morning. The rooms have complimentary bottled water and biscuits and a coffee machine and kettle. There is plenty of wardrobe space and the room was spacious. Thank you for a lovely stay and hopefully we will be back in January!

Spacious, clean, comfortable rooms in a lovely location with helpful & attentive staff. Great breakfast & good bar food. Some lovely walks overlloking estuary just a short distance away & good base to explore East Devon. Car park a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Highly recommended

Great find this. Lovely staff, everything provided in room. Bonus marks for the nespresso machine and daily top ups. Great location for getting to Exmouth and Exeter. Not noisy considering behind the busy pub. Breakfast was excellent. Will stay again.

Second visit to the Globe and won’t be the last . Not everything is perfect but it’s nearly there. The one thing that is strange is I’ve never been to a hotel before where EVERY member of staff is fantastic. Friendly , polite, professional, kind , efficient, switched on ….. there are no negatives to be honest . Topsham is lucky to have such a great place in its midst .

Very comfortable, cosy room in a lovely location! We also had dinner there which was lovely, as were the drinks at the bar. We used it as a base to drive around Devon and Cornwall, which we enjoyed very much! walks along the river were also very relaxing, hope to return soon!
