Absolute gem.Lots of history.Clean throughout. Lovely room with sea view.Plenty of storage.Very friendly helpful staff ,Nazeen was always there with a smile. Had a cocktail in the super bar and it was delicious. . I would advise booking car parking space,as limited.

Lovely 4 night stay in this historic hotel, with a fantastic location, walking distance to the train station, sea front & town. Friendly, accommodating staff. The restaurant & bar area were tastefully decorated. Breakfast was tasty & plentiful. We'll be back!

We spent one night at this hotel. From our arrival to our departure the young man on the desk was helpful and courteous. The hotel came under new ownership a year or so ago, and the family are gradually refurbishing. Our room was very clean with a new bathroom. The room had a lovely sea view too. There is a well stocked bar and a very nice restaurant, with local artwork on the walls. The bar and restaurant are open to non residents. The breakfast is buffet style, plentiful, and nicely presented. They serve dinner in the restaurant which they are converting to an all Indian menu, the curries we tried were delicious. If you would like a steak or fish and chips, they likely will not have those on the menu, however there are lots of restaurants in walking distance. All in all our stay at the Manor Hotel was welcoming, comfortable and reasonably priced. I recommend it highly.

I had booked an Afternoon Tea for Two via Groupon as a Valentine's gift for my partner and despite living fairly nearby had never actually visited this hotel before. We were given a very warm welcome by the very pleasant gentleman at the Reception and shown to our table in the nicely furnished and comfortable bar area. Our Tea was delicious! A variety of sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones, ample strawberry jam and clotted cream and some lovely cakes, along with unlimited tea. Altogether a very happy experience and we will return!

On booking the gentleman advised we would be upgraded to superior on arrival if he hadn't sold out of that category. Despite being the same gentleman this was not offered and we were given a standard double sea view. The hotel only had half a dozen guests the room was small and basic but ok. Bed comfortable. Bathroom tiny. Larger people wouldn't be able to use it! Quite disappointed.

We stayed in a “superior” room let’s start with the positives. Staff were polite and the bed was large and comfy. Now the nitty gritty. Hotel seriously requires updating, it’s tired and dated. The cleaning team need some training with ring marks from drinks on the shelf above the bed (no bedside tables) the grout around the shower is mouldy and the shower has no power at all. Stains on the bedroom furniture put very grim thoughts to mind and the burns on the carpet show that not everyone is following the no smoking policy. This hotel is LOUD!. We paid for late check out to have a lay in after attending an event, however the breakfast room plays loud music from 7am, the doors are slamming and the chance of sleeping in was impossible. When we left we wished we had saved some money and stayed at the Premiere Inn. We will not be returning.
