Chelsea House

We stayed for a week at Chelsea House. We really enjoyed the attention to the details, the hospitality and warmth of the hosts Sharon and Nigel and their whole team. Especially the breakfast and the daily homemade cake to take away was a highlight. Thank you very much - it was awesome.

This was our second visit to Chelsea House, which was our base for the week of the International Sea Shanty Festival. We previously stayed in June 2023 in the Freddy Mercury room and loved the experience so much that we booked the same week the following year before we left. This time we upgraded to the Amy Winehouse room, which is a very good size, and has a side bay window with a sea view. The bathroom area is a little cramped, but manageable. The quality of the towels and the bedding is very high, and the rooms are refreshed every day with tea/coffee and biscuits, and a jug of fresh milk in the fridge. But the best bit about this guest house is the owners....Sharon and Nigel run the business to a very high standard, with customer service an absolute priority. Lovely attention to detail like Nigel personally delivering the omelette he has just cooked for you, and Sharon always in the breakfast room, chatting with the guests, remembering their names, which encourages everyone to chat to one another creating a friendly atmosphere.....and then handing each guest a daily "treat" of her home baking. And Sharon knocked it out the park this year, by baking me some gluten-free treats so that I didn't miss out! We can wholeheartedly recommend this guest house without any hesitation - an amazing experience all round!

Chelsea House hands-down deserves ALL of the Stars. Run efficiently and impeccably by hosts Sharon & Nigel and accompanied by their super friendly team of happy helpers in the serving and housekeeping depts. The Nina Simone Room provided for the perfect accommodation (11/10) while our bestie westie enjoyed the personal decking space and amazing views as much as we did; an instant pick-me-up! Breakfasts outside in the beautifully landscaped garden were equally unrivalled affording the same calming sea views and 5 star ambience. Beautifully kept, imaginatively created, and spotlessly clean; Chelsea House owns the magic WoW factor recipe, one of a kind, and delivering perfection on every level. Agreeing with the last reviewer, nothing beats a friendly smile :)

Once again a very comfortable stay (our 10th I think) while down to visit family. So glad that we were attracted to the retro chic description and the singers names for the rooms back in 2018-we’ve tried Amy Winehouse, Rod Stewart, Bruce Springsteen and Dusty Springfield. All great and with a fridge stocking milk, water and tiffin😋Extra big fluffy towels in the en-suite is another bonus! Great tasty breakfasts to set us up for the day and a baked treat to take with us (needed on Sunday as we battled the elements)! Best wishes to Sharon & Nigel for the changes that are happening over the winter😊

We loved everything about our stay here, the hosts were just lovely, couldn’t do enough for you. Loved the breakfasts every morning, which set us up for the day and the little baked gifts daily were a delight. The room was beautiful, comfortable and clean, bed made every day. The little terrace overlooking the sea and facing the sun was just stunning. Loved it 😊

We had a great 2 night stay in the Amy Winehouse room . We were booked into the Jimi Hendrix room but Sharon soon spotted that my husband was a little bit too tall for the slopping ceiling in there and kindly offered us a transfer to the Amy Winehouse room which was perfect, spotlessly clean and comfortable with a sea view and was equipped with everything you need with the added bonus of a fridge which held the milk and a delicious Tiffin welcome treat , followed every morning by further home made treats. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable & enjoyable.
