Premier Inn Farnborough West (Southwood)

Not our first stay at a Premier Inn and won't be our last but just a couple of little things that took the shine off our stay. The welcome was good, and at first sight all was well, bedroom was clean and bed was comfortable. Two things that let it down, the first potentially dangerous, the lamp was missing the on/off button so we couldn't use it and there was a hole where the button should have been and below that direct access to the wiring. Heaven forbid a child put their fingers in there! Secondly, we thought the bathroom was quite clean, until I was in the bath and looked across to the toilet and could see under the rim which was absolutely and disgustingly filthy - obviously hasn't been cleaned under there for some time. I did report this to the receptionist the following morning as we checked out and hopefully these issues have been resolved for the next guest to room 209.

To say my husband and I are very disappointed and unhappy with our stay is an under statement!!!!! We were staying in room 124. We got woken up by shouting, screaming, banging and fowl language at 2am . The police were called , the staff tried to defuse the situation but this went on for over an hour. We needed to have good nights sleep due to our 1hr and 40min drive home. This didn't happen!!!!!!!

Calcium build up on kettle, black mold in corner of room. Missing lightbulbs, had to tune my telly. Check the shower head, it’s disgusting! For what I paid for one night it was a joke! Bed was comfy but everything else was awful. Paid £89 for one night as well, more fool me!

This is a good Premier inn, that has free parking. Staff friendly and efficient. Everything as you would expect from a premier inn. Great value for what you get. It doesn't have a lift, so if you have lots of luggage, request a ground floor room.

Stay away from room 206, it's a disaster. The heating never switches off. No matter what you do, it goes like an aircraft turbine for the whole night. Even if, as advised by staff, you turn it off at the mains, it will come on at some point and wake you up. Over two evenings I had a total of 4 hours' sleep. I will be expecting Premier Inn to address this with me directly. I can even provide video of the racket after it woke me in the small hours of both evenings.

Guests can rest assured that their comfort remains a priority, as the noise and dust typically associated with construction are being carefully managed to maintain a pleasant environment. In summary, while the hotel presents itself as a bit past its prime, the ongoing renovations signal a commitment to rejuvenating the space. The combination of established warmth and the promise of new enhancements creates a unique experience, allowing guests to enjoy their stay in a well-loved, albeit slightly worn, setting. As the work progresses, there's an exciting sense of anticipation for what this hotel could become in the near future.
