Les Mérinides

I loved this place. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. You can change all kinds of foreign money at the desk. I was able to change two different kinds of money into dirhams. The staff that greeted me and took my luggage up was wonderful. The views from the bedroom windows over the city are gorgeous. You can look out into the city and at night the lights twinkle. I didn't even want to close my curtains. It was a little too chilly to use the pool but if I come back during warmer weather it looks nice. Nice little patio area near the pool to sit and relax and have a drink or tea if you choose. I really enjoyed my stay here.

We walked into the hotel and thought ‘wow’ but then we walked into our bedroom! It was somewhat ‘tired’ and in need of decoration and refurbishment. I then walked into the bathroom- my photos tell the tale! As there wasn’t a kettle in the room I went to reception to ask if we could have one ‘No’ was the firm reply. I then asked if I could borrow an iron ‘No’ again. I pointed out that this had been the norm in other hotels. Grim faced silence! Not even a laundry list and bag were in evidence. The food at dinner time was just lukewarm and totally unappetising. Apparently there are other dining rooms but our group was not given access to them. I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

It is excellent hotel and good accomodation and meals and good rate . I visited it and I enjoyed the staying there . I hope to visit it later gdfgfdgdfgfdgdfgfdgfddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd

Good: View from Terrace and half the rooms. (Although noise comes along with that view). Bad: No air Location poor - not safe No store near by Meal options Ugly; No water. Seriously, no water unless you pay for it. So you are in a country you can’t drink the water and none is provided in the room or in the restaurant. Outrageous! Seriously think of being elsewhere. Their clientele is basically tour groups.

Staff were helpful but unfortunately The hotel is old and run down. After complaint due to PowerPoints falling out of walls, no hairdryer, mattress sagging and flat and no air conditioning we were moved to a different room. Still issues with PowerPoints loose in the wall and the power coming to them intermittently so the phone charge is on and off but the whole hotel has no air conditioning. Although advertised to have it, only the heating is available. Travelling for 30 days, this is the worst hotel we have come across. Very very disappointing. I am unsure how is has been appointed 5 stars.

Its not a new hotel so has a good position out of town overlooking the valley. It has a cool open air pool. The flies can be a big of a nuisance if sunbathing Rooms are a good size, clean and some have super views over the valley. This is the biggest plus Staff are nice though reception can be a little frosty Dinner buffets are nice enough. Breakfasts are poor and poorly organised Coffee is instant. Getting water is tough here, at breakfast they bring out 1 litre of water at a time then you have to wait for another , this is with maybe 60 people dining. In the room you get one small bottle a day supplied. **You really should bring water with you**. There is no tea or coffee in the rooms. Tea and coffee are not included at dinner nor any other fluids including water. This hotel was perhaps grand at one time but has been eclipsed by newer ones and now the accountants are in charge looking to charge wherever they can and provide cheaper costing food. Its a good hotel, very good is pushing it I would rank this as four star hotel. A reasonable choice but stingy
