I did not write long review for some time… this Road AKA Museum earned my respect for the time! Overall 5/5, a hidden gem as Riad and as cool as a museum of the Fes Elements! Location: 5/5 right at the centre of Medina Environment: 5/5, tidy and neat Good: 5/5 fresh and tasty! Service: 6/5, beyond good! Thank you Ali, Jasmine and Mohammad for the great service and sharing!! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with Moroccan hospitality and mint tea. The owner and staff team were exceptionally kind, attentive, and always ready to help with any request. The riad itself is a beautifully restored gem, with stunning traditional architecture, peaceful courtyards, and a rooftop terrace offering breathtaking views of the medina. The room was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was fresh and delicious each morning. The location is perfect for exploring the heart of Fes. We felt completely at home and highly recommend this riad to everyone.

從沙漠離開到菲斯古城整整開了10個小時個路程，從早上9點出發到晚上8點到達酒店屁股已經開花。 Riad的老闆是個里昂的摩洛哥女婿，十足中國文化迷，整個房子很有品位也感覺他玩得很開心。誠意十足的酒店，每個員工跟老闆都很盡心讓人感覺像是另個在摩洛哥的家。 It took us a full 10 hours to drive from the desert to the ancient city of Fez. We were exhausted from the time we set out at 9 am to the time we arrived at the hotel at 8 pm. The owner of the Riad is a Moroccan son-in-law from Lyon, who is a complete fan of Chinese culture. The whole house is very tasteful. A very sincere hotel. Every employee and boss is very dedicated and makes people feel like we are at home in Morocco.

The attention, the design, the quality of sheets and towels. All to the point. We received help in every request that arised and beyond If i am ever in fez i will stay here for sure, they will have a pool soon, cant wait! Alex and Yasmine are true hosts ＜3

Stepping into this wonderfully charming Riad in Fez was like entering a waking dream – an unparalleled experience from start to finish. Tucked away perfectly within the bustling heart of the old Medina, its location offers an incredible blend of accessibility and serene escape. From the moment we arrived, the entire staff enveloped us in the warmest welcome, making us feel not just cared for, but truly cherished. Their attentiveness was beyond compare; every single need was anticipated and met with such grace and genuine kindness. It felt as though they had conjured a personalized haven just for us. The Riad itself is a masterpiece of Moroccan artistry. Every corner, every tile, every intricate carving contributes to an atmosphere of breathtaking beauty and tranquility. The gorgeous decor created a mesmerizing environment, an oasis of calm that truly transported us. We constantly found ourselves marveling at the exquisite details, feeling utterly enchanted by the surroundings. If you are traveling to Fez, I cannot recommend this Riad highly enough. It’s not just a place to stay; it’s an immersive, dream-like journey into the heart of Moroccan hospitality and beauty. Prepare to be utterly captivated.

Riad staff met us at the medina entrance to ferry our baggage the short distance: a good start to a very relaxing stay in this beautifully and opulently restored house. A quiet side street, dappled shade and vegetation in the patio, lage, comfortable bedrooms, a covered rooftop dining area for breakfast and dinner, sunny terrace for drinks and rest-time, extravagent public rooms to relax in after dinner. Decorated with stained glass, fretwork, sculpted stone, textiles, metalwork etc by medina artisans, supplemented by pictures, artifacts and vitrines full of historical reminders of Fez' rich history, this riad has been curated rather than created by a very dedicated couple. Human dynamo Alex (French businessman-turned-hotelier) and wife Yasmine (sultry Marocco-Parisienne, plus well-bred pooch) run the riad rigorously and precisely, control freaks in a good way. Food is copious and good quality: having eaten dinner there on on our first night we dined twice more. Staff are very well-trained and attentive to guests' needs. Special thanks to the very good cook Fatima and the smiling, bashful waiter Muhamed. Alex can be overwhelming in his enthusiasm to inform and lecture guests, but persevere with him! His info is helpful and his advice is good. He arranged a full day tour us to the Imperial Cities - only 110 € with a very helpful driver (Meknes and Moulay Idriss self-evident, and we found that at Volubilis the signboards gave adequate info so we did not need to hire one of the rather off-putting official guides locally). Alex recommended a hammam/massage at a very posh riad next door, which we thought a bit pricey, so he proposed one in the new town that did an excellent job for half the price - just remember to take spare underwear with you. We did not accept his proposal for a costly guided tour of Fez medina, preferring a 'free' Guruwalk with the excellent guide Zakaria who got a big tip. Our four nights in Fez spent in Le Calife were by far the best accommodation of our four-centre trip to Morocco

A truly amazing Riad. Very clean and comfortable, decorated with a wonderfully eclectic mix of artwork and objects. Everywhere there are little treasures to discover. The hosts - Alex and Yasmine could not have been more helpful and we feel they went 'above and beyond' to make us feel welcome and looked after. All the staff were delightful and so hard working. Always with a smile and a greeting. Fatima's cooking was delicious and very authentic. Certainly worth eating in-house. Riad Le Calife is a happy place to spend time and we will definitly return - Insha'Allah. If you are visiting Fes and want a very special place to stay, then this riad should be at the very top of your choice list.
