Twin room We were happy with the size of the family twin room, with space for two children. It is good to note that the two kids (up to 15yo) are supposed to share a sleeping couch, which I doubt has room for two teenagers. It was a good size for my 4 and 5yo to share though. There was an unpleasant odor in the hall and room (moldy-sewage’ish) but we got used to it pretty quick. Pool the pool was too cold. We had to leave after 15minutes, and I am surprised the temperature was suitable for a training-pool since there is not enough space to swim/train. It is an ok sized pool, but smaller children (under 115cm) will not be able to stand and need something to float with (so bring it with you). Thankfully there was a sauna in the wardrobe where we could get warm after! Also, the pools opening hours are too short, which didn’t bother us once we realized it was too cold anyways. We had promised our kids a pool, and drove 1hr to Tonstadbadet the next day, which I absolutely recommend: it was warm and big and full of happy families. Dinner the dinner service was poor and very slow. Our waiter did not provide us with a drink menu without us requesting it. Nobody noticed our empty glasses or empty water bottle throughout our meal, which lasted 1hr 40min. It took 25 minutes to get desserts after we managed to order them, so we regretted ordering them after already having been there too long. We just figured desserts would be served promptly (our mistake). My husband ordered the burger, which was very good. The pizza was ok. The entrecôte was not good at all - I’ve never seen a yellow/gray steak before in my entire life, and hope to never see another like it. The potatoes and mushrooms were dry, and the steak tasted buttery. The ice cream was three small scoops, and tasted as one would expect. The chocolate soufflé (sjokoladefondant) was good, but overcooked as well. Since the waiters never asked how our meal was, and I had to leave with the kids when my husband tried to get the check, I was unfortunately not able to let them know the experience. Breakfast Breakfast was served from 8-11am, we got there at 9:10. They were out of both pastries and smoothie by the time we got there, except the three croissants the staff placed out to the sharing table during our 1hr there.. the bread was half frozen. The fruit selection was one plate of grapes, orange and some melon pieces - which was empty half the time. The chocolate milk dispenser was broken or empty, so the staff placed out some chocolate milks at intervals. The bacon was undercooked, but the omelet was good. There are several reasons for my low rating, and I suppose I would have given the hotel 3/5 if the prices reflected the quality better. We were lucky and booked our rooms at a very reduced campaign price, making our stay worth it (if we had only dropped the dinner service).

Sorry to say that this hotel did not deserve it’s stars. Unpleasant staff not willing to show any service. We arkiver a Friday afternoon- nothing to eat at the hotel, no coffee or tea to be served until 17.00. We needed to drive to another cafe in Sirdal to get food and coffee/tea. Room did not have soap or lightbulbs. Breakfast, Lynch snd finner was Good. Dissapointing, this hotel has such potensial.
