Hotel Argentina

I honestly have no clue why this hotel has such low ratings. It has been the perfect experience for my husband and I in Firenze! Is it luxurious? No. But it is comfortable, clean, easy to access, nice staff, and safe? Hell yea! Location: The walk from the train station to here was easy, even with our bags on the cobblestone. Also it’s in a more peaceful part with walking/scooter/bike access to anything your heart desires to see in Florence. The best part is it’s close to the river so you can walk along there and take in the city. I felt safe walking around the hotel area even at night. The room: I love how dark the room is for sleep. AC works great and you don’t have to put a key in to run it. Showers were one of the cleanest and best smelling we’ve had during our month long trek through Italy. Bed is super comfy. You can take the stairs or the elevator. The refrigerator was exactly what we needed for snacks during the day and cold waters. If I had any complaints: coffee maker, Netflix/smart tv. Then it would be luxurious!

I read some other reviews and am a bit surprised. It does what it says on the tin. It's no frills, could do with a bit of a refresh no doubt. But the room is cleaned everyday, everything worked. The shower was great, and most importantly, it was 10 mins from everywhere important. Whether that the train station or duomo. We were out from 10am to 10pm most days so no point spending a lot on a hotel. There are plenty of nicer hotels but good luck finding them at this price!! I would have liked a wardrobe rather than a rail with our stuff sitting about, but if anything it encouraged us to get up and out. There isn't any food or drink on site that I can see but a lovely Cafe downstairs ( which is also very busy ) or any number of cafes and restaurants surround it. Staff were always very nice and friendly, and spoke good English. Don't have any high expectations but you could a lot worse for more money.

TBH had I read the reviews on here before booking I wouldn’t have and although we stayed here we wouldn’t recommend it it in its current condition. The photos are nothing like the reality. The hotel is pretty run down and been neglected; however, they are in the process of refurbishing, although the down sound of that is it’s pretty noisy if you want to go back to your room for a couple of hours rest. The receptionist is very helpful and friendly. Our actual room had been refurbished so was clean, and everything worked as it should. WiFi is good. The daily cleaning, changing of bed linen and towels is very good. The location is good, other than noise early morning from the street it backs onto. The lift in tiny (2 people with a suitcase each is a squeeze), and the spiral staircase (we used other than on arrival, and departure) is very narrow (wide enough for one slim person), and wouldn’t meet UK fire regulations. The hall ways are in desperate need of decorating. There aren’t any food facilities although there is a very good patisserie literally a few steps from the front door.

The clerk at the desk was wonderful and helpful to me. Couldn’t ask for more! The room was so clean and so quiet. And I felt very confident of my safety with the provisions they set up that didn’t allow non clients into the building. I was given great information and directions. As a lovely bonus, the Cafe Gamberini next door was excellent and I ate there every day. Don’t miss out on this fabulously located gem. It a few steps from the river and only minutes from the Ponte Vecchio bridge.

Ho soggiornato dal 16 al 18 febbraio presso quest'hotel. Pessima esperienza! Hotel non curato e pessima la pulizia (peli sulle piastrelle del bagno, termoarredo e comodini impolverati). Ovviamente ho fatto presente la situazione alla reception la quale mi ha detto cortesemente che avrebbe provveduto a far pulire la stanza. Ma ahimè, al mio rientro la camera era perfettamente come l' avevo lasciata. L'unica cosa positiva è stata la cortesia del personale della reception. Hotel sconsigliato! Sicuramente non ritornerò. P.S. allego foto di quanto detto.

Sicuramente c’è stato il tentativo di rendere più accattivante questo hotel, ma la ristrutturazione approssimativa fa i conti con le capacità e i mezzi di cui si dispone. La pretenziosa tappezzeria simil Versace non nasconde i segni di umidità sul soffitto, così come la doccia multifunzione non copre l’approssimazione dell’installazione. C’è ancora tanto da fare. Un consiglio: più semplicità é maggiore attenzione ai dettagli.
