Hotel Dali

Positive: Family runned hotel with caring, nice and helpful people that make you feel comfortable and at home. We felt like as if we lived in our own authentic, clean four walls with Italian spirit and an old school elevator, in the centre of the old town of Firenze, a stone’s throw away from the Dome, with free parking (if available!!) and at an absolutely fair price. Italy at its best! We didn’t want more. We had one of two rooms in a big apartment in the third floor, with private, big bathroom outside our room, which didn’t really matter to us, and free access to a big kitchen and living room with old, stylish furniture and paintings, to share with the guests in the second room. If you are not looking for a many star ***** hotel, you will love and appreciate it, as we did. If we come back to Firenze, then certainly back to Marco and his family at the Hotel Dali. Negative: Hmm, good question? PS: This is our personal experience, other people may not feel the same way, which is probably based on different and false expectations.

Hotel Dali is a charming little Italian hotel. It’s centrally located in Florence, and truly give’s authentic Italian vibes. Run by a father and daughter, they keep it very neat and clean. Marco is so kind and helpful and made us feel very welcomed. Always answered my emails quickly and with clarity. We felt safe and comfortable as 3 woman traveling from California. I would recommend and would definitely stay there again.

Hotel Dali is a charming hotel located in central Florence close to all the main sites. The room was comfortable and we had access to a very nice living area and a kitchen. I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning to stay for multiple nights in Florence.

Great place with charme, ultra central and a very friendly and helpful family running the hotel. We would come back for sure another time! The appartment we lived in was very clean, has a nice shower, all we needed was there. Great and authentic place to stay in Florence

Hotel Dali is on the upper floors of a venerable bulding on a street leading directly to the Duomo: on the other side of the Duomo from the main station, so a less busy street than many in the area! There's a fairly ancient but fully working lift up to reception - and then a very friendly and enthusiastic greeting which made us feel really welcome. Another couple of floors up in the lift to the suite we'd booked, which was on the top floor. A large bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and a big lounge too, all air-conditioned; and a small balcony up on the rooftop with a view of the Duomo (access to the balcony is up a couple of rungs in the wall, and out of a large window! - but once you're there it's worth it). All very clean, individual and charming. Don't expect standard hotel fittings and bland modern furniture; do expect character, peace and quiet amid the noise and bustle of Florence, and a genuine welcome from a family business. There's a restaurant more or less straight across the road which is well worth booking at - if you turn left on leaving the hotel you're a couple of minutes from the Duomo. Turn right and you're only a few minutes from a pretty vibrant area around Santa Croce, with many bars and restaurants.

This is a fantastic find. The hotel is perfectly located and if in the front facing rooms like me, you can see the Duomo which is literally 90 seconds walk away. The road/area is really safe which was essential for a woman travelling solo. The welcome by all staff is warm, friendly and they give you a map and recommendations for where to visit. They were keen to show me where the nearest supermarket was (2 mins walk away) and happy to point out that I was welcome to use the fridge/freezer and microwave in the corridor. My room was a good size with comfortable double bed, sink, TV, wardrobe, desk, mirror and ceiling fan. It was the little touches that made it great - the snacks in the basket, plug in mosquito repellent, hairdryer, free coffee in the morning, mini library of books to borrow, lift to the 2nd floor, mini fridge in room. I’ve seen other reviews saying it’s noisy. It’s true that you can hear people as they walk by and perhaps at times the hustle and bustle of life in a city at times but honestly, close the window if you’re that bothered! It really wasn’t a ‘noise’ that kept me awake. Don’t be put off by the shared bathrooms- not once did I have to queue or wait to get in and the water was always hot and the bathroom cleaned regularly - 3 or 4 times per day from what I saw. Cannot recommend enough!
