Just returned from 2 absolutely amazing weeks at Reethi Beach and we definitely plan on returning. This was our 9th time in the Maldives, 1st at Reethi Beach and it didn’t disappoint. Some reviews mention the resort is a little tired in places but we didn’t find this to be the case and certainly no different to other resorts we have stayed in. Snorkelling was fantastic and the main reason we go to the Maldives. The house reef is like most reefs and has sadly been decimated by coral bleaching. But there are positive signs of regrowth and the reef is absolutely teeming with fish, many more than we have seen at other resorts. Daily we would see turtles, trigger fish, trevally’s and so on. We were lucky to see a Manta on the reef 1 morning and although we missed it there was also a Whale Shark on 2 occasions. The icing on the cake was a dolphin who got very interested/close and is a fairly frequent occurrence we were told. We also went on a Manta excursion which was magical, a big shout out and thanks to the dive team/boat crew for making this experience really enjoyable and safe. A big thank you to all the staff on the island who are genuinely exceptional and a credit to the resort. Everyone really made a difference and couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. I’d like to name a few stand out members, from the bar staff - Adeeb, Alex and Faloo and the restaurant waiters who looked after us so well - Aihem, Ibbe and Amjad, thanks for your hard work making it such a pleasant experience. The food was an absolute stand out point for me. I am Coeliac and cannot eat gluten. I messaged Reethi Beach before arriving and they couldn’t have done more to make sure I was looked after. I was guided through what I could and couldn’t have and everything was clearly labelled. I was also able to ask for specific dishes if desired and frequently Suranga and the team would go out of their way to make special pasta, roti, wraps and so on if the buffet selection wasn’t as plentiful as other days. I even had special gf deserts made each day, an amazing treat! Big thanks to Mangala on this front and Rubel for excellent eggs and other dishes on the cooking stations. They even sourced gluten free beer, had it at all bars and made staff aware which was incredible! The food itself was fantastic, plenty of curries and Maldivian/Sri Lankan food as you would expect, all delicious. There were plenty of other options too and 1 day my wife who is vegetarian requested the paneer curry we had for lunch again for dinner and the team were only too happy to oblige, also making some rotis to go with it. The only thing she would have liked was more vegetarian curries but again she had plenty of choice and loved the food. We will definitely be returning to Reethi Beach in the future and cannot wait to return!
