Hotel Albatros

Booked as part of a package deal we had no expectations before going to this hotel. A twenty-minute walk into Forio centre, the hotel sits on the front facing west giving the rooms a sea view and more importantly a sunset view. Our room, set up as a family room but as easily could have been a suite, was spacious and comfortable (the main bed was a little hard for my old back). The four piece bathroom had a large shower; the all important balcony was more than large enough for four guests - there was only two of us. The roof terrace shared the same view, the pool may need a little maintenance before too long. Breakfast was great - if you have a sweet tooth then it is heaven. The Cappuccino would cost a lot if bought in the UK. A great base to explore both Ischia and the Bay of Naples, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Really nice location, with all rooms overlooking the sea, hence enhancing the relaxing experience the island gives. Walking distance from Forio’s vibrant centre and bus transport to and from Ischia. Rooms sunny and airy, with charming old well maintained (our experience at least) furniture. Amazing personnel, always happy to help with anything.

We are currently here. It is unbelievable. I would highly recommend this place in a heartbeat. It is a 5 star all the way. The staff of Luigi Savino , Vanessa Raicaldo and Ermina are absolutely amazing. I am here with my wife Elle Iannelli and two teenage daughters and they ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. The view is extraordinary from every room. The drinks are all absolutely delicious, and so is the food. We will definitely be coming back.

An absolutely amazing experience! The staff were exceptionally accommodating, the facilities were beyond expectation, as good as the pictures are, the views and facilities are even better, and the food was to die for, commendation to the chef. Kudos to those whose names I remember, Pino for his gracious help at check in, Giovanni, Fabiana, and Cito, excellent table service, Donatella forcall her help with bus schedule and tickets. Most importantly, head waiter and chef! Awesome breakfast. I simply cannot speak highly enough about the place. Dinner is a must! Eat there one night, you won't go elsewhere. Antipasta buffet is a meal in itself. I forgot to mention rhe pool, so relaxing! And best of all the price was right for two old ladies, 78 and 75. Note: take ferry to Forio not Ischia as we did, hotel shuttle will pick you up, otherwise cab is expensive.

Everything are better than expected!!! The location is perfect just between beach - Spa - Village , just at the Seaside in the sunset. The place seems to be just newbuild in a classical style (recently renovated), and a nice pool and bar area. The Staff is both super professional and personal - like a 5 star familyhotel. Every dinner they presented was very tasteful Italian food.

Despite the hotel photographs the older part of the hotel is right on quite a busy road. The newer rooms where we stayed seem much larger and quieter as they overlook the pool/gardens. Our main problem was with the staff in the dining room on the first evening we were there who seemed totally disorganised and overwhelmed and the only response they could manage was to shout at each other and the guests. We were given a wine list but as I was eating my first course at the time I didn't order, big mistake. Two further courses later no-one had taken the order despite several attempts to gain some service and with people around us, who had arrived later, being served. I complained to the restaurant manager who seemed to suggest what did we expect, then to the guy in reception, who's only excuse was that they had had quite a few people check in that day, like that was our problem. We then asked if we could get a drink at the bar to be told it would be five minutes, but having been told several times in the restaurant that it would be one minute we chose not to stay. Thanks to say the following evening was much calmer even though the quality of food had hardly improved but unfortunately the damage had already been done.
