Hotel is fresh and new, however, staff need more training at check in. Front desk has zero clue about how the digital check in and digital key request works in the app. The point of using the app and digital key is so you can “skip” the front desk and go straight to your room. When I asked about the bottled water for Diamond Members, I was told the drinking fountain was over by the fitness center. This was corrected when another staff member walked by. The room was extremely noisy with hallway noise and every door opening and closing. Every conversation in the hallway could be clearly heard as if the people were in the room with you. The room was spacious, however, for some reason a constant blinking bright light in the smoke detector was placed in direct view of the bed which kept waking us up at night because it would blink and light up the dark room. I understand safety and the need for the smoke detector but placement in the room could have been better. Breakfast times are different on the app as what is posted on the wall outside the breakfast area. Both weekday and weekend breakfast times were a half hour different. Breakfast was standard for a Home2Suites, but Hilton must be trying to get fancy and instead of using traditional containers for breakfast items (silver dishes), the items (sausage, egg, chicken, croissant) were all placed in the same box like container with a slider door making it 10x longer to get the food you wanted and the tongs were too big to reach inside. The hotel has great potential and hopefully will continue to improve as the kinks are worked out.

We reserved a room through Holton for next weekend back in July and received an email yesterday (9 days prior) saying the hotel will not be open and canceled our reservation. Other hotels are now not available or double the price from when we made reservation. No phone call, warning or anything just happened to see a generic Hilton email. Absolutely unacceptable that this hotel didn't know they would be open in time until a week prior and then inform me like that!!! Reserve elsewhere, if only we had, we now have nowhere in town to stay.
