We spent a long weekend at L'Auberge Chanteclair in November 2025. It is very well situated a little out of the village (but within walking distance) - enough to be quiet and peaceful, but still having easy access. The views from the front verandah are just lovely and we spent several hours out there with a glass of wine. My room was great and had everything I needed; the only recommendation I can think of to make to L'Auberge Chanteclair is that while USB plugs are available in the rooms, it's helpful to have one or two at the bed so that guests can easily access their charging devices during the night if needed. The bed was a touch hard for me, but that's likely due to some health issues I had at the time. The staff were just lovely; very professional and unobtrusive and yet also very available and helpful, going above and beyond for some requests. Highly recommended.

We had a great time at l‘Auberge Chanteclair. The hosts and the team are super friendly and we felt more than welcomed! The breakfast in the morning was amazing with a wide range of different things. We‘d definitely recommend this amazing accommodation!

We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed every minute. Allan and his team creat a very easy and pleasant atmosphere and really care about their guests. The accomondation is nicely furnished, the breakfast is very tasty and the garden with the pool, flowers and little lake is so beautiful! The property is surrounded by a very pretty landscape and 4min drive away from the center of Franschhoek.Thanks again to the whole team!

Lovely old character buildings in beautiful grounds. Stayed in The Vines cottage spacious and very comfortable. Very well presented and attentive service from Allan and Yvonne. A very tasty home made breakfast.

We were there at the beginning of March as part of our South Adriatic trip. The breakfast was very good, and we really liked the tips for excursions. In the evenings, a chilled white wine was always placed on the veranda for guests. There was an honest bar with fair prices. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

What a beautiful place to stay, Alain & Yvonne were so hospitable & couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect, the breakfast was amazing & Alains suggestions on restaurants were fabulous we stayed in Vine Cottage & it was gorgeous, only thing I found was a slight negative was the bed was a bit hard but I am used to a pillow top mattress, we used the fire place on our last night which was lovely . We would 100% recommend this beautiful property.

The perfect place to stay to relax in Franschoek, set in the hills overlooking the mountains and close to Franschoek town. The rooms are extremely spacious and comfortable and the owners, Alan and Yvonne and very friendly and helpful, offering advice and tips on restaurants and where to visit. Breakfast is taken outside listening to the birds enjoying the view. Highly recommended.

Beautiful surroundings, gardens, and mountains. A Lovely English feel. We felt very looked after during our 2 night stay. Cozy evenings by the fire place with a glass of wine and delicious breakfast also by the fire place. Our room was spacious and private and well equipped. We would love to stay in summer and use the pool and sit on our veranda. We will definitely return again.

We spent 2 nights with Alan & Yvonne at the beautiful Auberge Chanteclair as part of our 40th wedding anniversary celebration. Our room (Prunus) had everything we needed and was elegantly decorated. We especially enjoyed breakfast on the terrace and Yvonne’s speciality fresh fruit juices. The breakfast buffet offered plenty of choice, the cooked breakfast was also delicious and piping hot. The property stands in well cared for grounds where there is a pool, lake, vineyard, perimeter walk and vegetable garden. Alan & Yvonne are terrific hosts and were able to give us tips and information on our onward journey. Auberge Chanteclair is within easy reach Franschhoek, the wine tram, restaurants and shops. There are plenty of places within 1-2 hours drive of Franschhoek so would make a great base if you wanted to stay longer.
