Black F Tower - Serviced Apartments

We stayed in the Studio Black M, which looked appealing online but proved to be completely impractical for two people. The room's design prioritizes aesthetics over functionality in several frustrating ways: The bed is awkwardly positioned against a wall, forcing one person to climb over their partner to get in or out during the night. To make matters worse, an inexplicable gate-like structure at the bed's end further restricts movement, making it impossible to exit from the bottom of the bed. The studio is extremely cramped and uncomfortable. The chair, seemingly chosen more for its design than comfort, felt like sitting on concrete. With no alternative seating, you're forced to sit on the tiny bed, which barely accommodates two people. Cooking became a nerve-wracking experience. A sign warns guests that they are fully responsible for the cost of any fire alarm activation. The alarm is so sensitive that you're required to open the balcony door while cooking, despite the freezing temperatures. This is unacceptable, especially considering the lack of a kitchen fan by Black F – a basic amenity that would prevent such issues. The bathroom continues the pattern of poor design, further emphasizing style over practicality. In summary, the Studio Black M is a prime example of design that looks good in photos but fails miserably in real-world usability.

We really enjoyed our stay at Black F House. Great amenities, comfortable room and easy check in and check out. I think we even got a free room upgrade! The extra space was greatly appreciated and we were very grateful. We would happily stay again. My only comments are on the kitchen. It lacks an extractor fan over the stove, yet a sign says the fire alarm is very sensitive. We did not have an incident, but it did concern us when we were cooking, especially as the fire alarm is closer to the kitchen than the windows are. I think it's a bit harsh to warn guests that they pay for the consequences of the alarm going off when the infrastructure is not provided. I think for people hoping for a lot of home cooking when staying, just bear this in mind. If you're not cooking, then all is perfect! Also the fridge was very loud! If we had the smaller apartment where the fridge is in the same space as the bed, this could have been very problematic. But since we had a door to close between us, it was very OK.

Everything is super. The view from the window is amazing. The beds are comfortable and it's a great place to sleep. Everything is very aesthetically pleasing, you can't resist taking photos. Would highly recommend.

A short but pleasent trip to Freiburg with three generations family - we enjoyed it! Kind people and good food - but sometimes quite crowded. In all restaurants reservations were needed - this is not favorable for spontanous planning …

The service from the man on reception was exceptional, as non German speakers we relied on him and he was very helpful.The apartment was all we could wish for apart from one thing, one side of the bed was against the wall. We are in our seventies and need to get up in the night! I loved the green walls on the balcony.

Wonderful flat - modern, but comfortable. TV, kitchenette, all brand-new. Balcony with a marvellous view on the Muenster and the Schkossberg! Very nice bathroom. Rainforest shower, a lot of space. For sure I will come back!
