Stadthotel Freilassing

The hotel is in a charming little town close to Salzburg, not far away from the train station. Staff were welcoming and friendly. There is a selection of reasonably-priced cold drinks at reception, which may come in very handy on Sundays when everything is closed, including most of the restaurants in the area. For a winter, or other cool month, stay this place would be perfect, but... During my stay, the outside temperatures were consistently over 30 C. The room temperature was at least 10 C above the outside temperature as the room received the afternoon sun from about 12 pm to sunset. There was no air conditioning and no block-out curtains (the heavy fabric curtains could use a liner that reflects the sun away from the windows). The hotel has a fly screen, which they call a sun screen. Unfortunately, it's not a sun screen. The little fan did not provide much relief, even when I put it in front of the open window at night. There was also no fridge in the room where one could keep cool drinks or a cold compress. In short, there was no escaping the heat: It was hot outside and it was even hotter inside. I stayed 3 nights and suffered severe heat stress. I only recovered from it a day after leaving that place. My room was also right next to the entrance door to the corridor; each time the door slammed shut, it woke me up. This is not due to the guests staying there, but due to the spring-based locking mechanism that makes it almost impossible to gently close the door by hand. From the second day onwards, staff put a door stopper there, which helped reduce the noise until people removed the door stopper. All up, I was sleep deprived, hot, and exhausted all the time. By the time I left, I was utterly miserable and physically ill. If I had to do it again, I would pay more and stay directly in Salzburg.

Das Zimmer bietet fast alles was für eine Übernachtung benötigt wird. Das Bad ist neuwertig mit einer großen Dusche. Was fehlt ist eine Klimaanlage und ein kleiner Kühlschrank. Das Zimmer war sehr warm und kühlte trotz Ventilator und dicken Vorhängen kaum ab. Die Aussentemperatur war entsprechend warm. Wir hatten „tropische „Nächte. Auf dem Flur steht ein Kühlschrank mit Getränken für die Gäste, sehr angenehm. Das Frühstück war gut und vielfältig. Es gibt eine überdachte Raucherterrasse. Das Hotel liegt in der Fußgängerzone, die Parkplätze sind ca. 100 Meter entfernt. An der Rezeption war meistens ein Ansprechpartner vor Ort, darüber konnten auch allgemeine Fragen zu Ausflügen besprochen werden.

Sehr schickes Hotel, mitten in der FuZo von Freilassing. Die Zimmer sind gemütlich und modern eingerichtet und das Frühstück ist auch super. Wir hatten im Zimmer eine Dusche, leider hatte diese keinen Stöpsel. Wir brauchten einen, weil wir unser Kind baden wollten. Haben an der Rezeption gefragt und weil sie keinen Stöpsel gefunden haben, haben wir einen Wäschekorb zum Baden bekommen. Das fanden wir super nett. Das gesamte Personal ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Also alles in allem ist das Hotel nur zu empfehlen.

Ruhige Lage direkt in der Fußgängerzone von Freilassing mit zahlreichen Restaurants und Geschäften. Kostenloser Hotelparkplatz im Innenhof. Bahnhof 500 Meter mit IC/EC/Railjet-Anschluss. Großer, heller Frühstücksraum im 1. Stock, Buffetfrühstück mit großer Auswahl, frische Zubereitung von Eierspeisen nach Wunsch, Tee und Kaffee von Eilles, Frühstück auch auf der Terrasse möglich. Diese kann von den Gästen bis 22 Uhr genutzt werde. Gut bestückter Getränke-Kühlschrank an der Rezeption. Frau Beer und ihre Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Mein Einzelzimmer bot genug Platz und Komfort für meinen 3-tägigen Aufenthalt. Gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Sehr guter Ausgangspunkt für Fahrten zum Königssee, ins Chiemgau und in die Stadt Salzburg (Einzelfahrt 3,10 €). Dienstlich bin ich hier hin und wieder für eine Nacht und bin immer sehr zufrieden. Man hat alles was man benötigt und es gibt ein leckeres Frühstück mit allem was man braucht. Alle Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Hoteleigene Parkplatz liegt zwar ein paar Meter um die Ecke ist aber dafür Kostenlos und es findet sich immer ein Platz.
