The Lighthouse

Stayed in an amazing family room in the "farmhouse". Beautiful spacious room and bathroom, spotlessly clean, with fridge, kettle tea coffee etc. Bottled water each day and complimentary toiletries. Downstairs we had use of a living room with board games etc. Fantastic grounds with beautiful views and a great childrens play area for our 10 year old. Being able to use the pool next door ( free during our stay) was a bonus. The Lighthouse team were very friendly and welcoming. My daughter loved how they carefully arranged her soft toys when making up the room too!! Delicious breakfast, daughter loved the pancake machine. Some reviews mention it is odd pre ordering but we found it easy and it meant that our breakfast was freshly made for us. Overall, loved our stay in a beautiful peaceful place would recommend to anyone.

We had a lovely stay at The Lighthouse in Frome. The staff were genuinely warm and helpful throughout our visit. The rooms have a unique charm – thoughtfully decorated with great interiors that really stand out from the usual hotel style. It’s just a short drive to the town centre, so we could explore Frome easily and still enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. The green space around the hotel is beautiful – perfect for morning or evening walks. Breakfast was standard but fresh and nicely presented. Overall, it was a calm and refreshing stay. Would happily come back again!

Perfect venue for a family get together and to view local attractions. Pretty grounds and rooms attractively decorated with historical features and practical facilities too. A warm welcome from Rowena and Simon. We all enjoyed our stay at The Lighthouse, Frome.

I highly recommend The Lighthouse, we were visiting Longleat and the Lighthouse was in a great location just 10 minutes away. What a wonderful place to stay! Our room was beautiful styled with attention to detail. The grounds and buildings are stunning, so relaxing and peaceful. The staff were welcoming and very helpful plus a great breakfast was included. Thanks for a lovely stay! Xx

Lady serving breakfast (apologies did not get her name) so lovely and friendly. Overall place is gorgeous. Swimming Pool (not owned by lighthouse) needs better times for casual swim. The room we had was quite small, incredibly hot, the electric fan not doing much, the ceiling fan ok but a little noisy. Our room was next to a communal kitchen which made our intended stay of some peace not quite work out. Seemed like pipes running through our ceiling so each time someone opened a tap or flushed elsewhere was pretty noisy especially around 22:00-23:00 and 07:00-08:30. Bathroom/Toilet small, not disabled friendly (suppose my fault for not mentioning disabled guest) not sure if that would have made a difference. Parking for disabled guests should be allowed nearer. Else nice place nice people not much to do but walk and sit around.

Hotel was lovely, welcome reception when we arrived. Room was big and overlooked the countryside. Bed was comfy and bathroom was spacious Breakfast was lovely, had cooked breakfast, and then pancakes. Had their own pancake machine, which was easy to use. Will definitely be returning in summer
