Stay at Penny's Mill

Warm welcome from Rosie & Bill who are excellent hosts. Room very well appointed & comfortable, and we had the added bonus of the use of the Drawing Room which was a delight. Breakfast in the Conservatory could not be bettered. Highly recommended.

Firstly Nunney is a beautiful village, my wife and i walked around and all the local people we spoke to were so charming, a father and son were walking down the stream in there wellies, this was proper village life. We arrived at Penny`s Mill to be greeted by Bill and Rosie, a nicer couple you could not wise to meet, beautiful gardens and allotments, this was a fine place for sure. We stayed in Polly`s room which came with a private living room on the same floor which had a huge window with views of the garden. The bedding was quality through and through, good bathroom as well, the room and house were done out in a style we loved, not ultra modern but in a style which was classy in our eyes. First you can tell straight away Rosie was a chef earlier in her life, full cooked breakfast, piping hot and cooked to perfection with quality ingredients. homemade breads, marmalade, jams etc, also choices of what you wanted for breakfast. After our stay you could tell this was Bill and Rosie`s "baby", they clearly take pride in there place, nothing was too much trouble for them, there main objective was that you as a guest had a wonderful time, places of this quality are a dying breed where the guests are paramount. Visit and you will walk away thinking that`s how it should be done. Also we booked directly with the owners which was soooo much easier than doing it online as they give you advice on your stay directly. We will return for sure.

What a beautiful house, stunning location, and wonderful hosts. We wanted a relaxing few nights away, and our stay was exactly that. Our hosts welcomed us into their home and provided every amenity you require and then some. The breakfasts were amazing, especially the homemade bread! Directions and restaurant recommendations were spot on. Great location for longkeat and Bath. One of those places on our must return list. Thank you for your hospitality. Andrea and Andrew.

Without doubt, one of the very best places we have ever stayed. Bill and Rosie are the perfect hosts - nothing is too much trouble. The Studio is beautifully situated with a wonderful garden and river view from the balcony. The constant hum of the river is very soothing. The Studio is cleverly arranged to enable guests to have access to facilities that make the stay so easy: tea and coffee aplenty; a microwave; fridge; TV; books; CDs; DVDs; ensuite...the list is endless. The breakfast was truly awesome - homemade jams and marmalade, sourdough and the choice of full English or part thereof, even smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. It is better than a home-from-home as neither of us had to cook!! Parking is great, off-road and safe. We are already planning a return trip simply because so infrequently does the description of holiday accommodation actually match reality that we want to make the most of it before everyone else finds out! Our weekend at Penny's Mill was wonderful. A comfortable bed, perfect tranquility, well thought out and equipped room combined with a warm welcome from Rosie and Bill who are delightful hosts made our stay memorable. We enjoyed the breakfasts and chatting to Rosie and Bill, who recommended interesting places to visit. All in all, great value for money. We will stay there again!

The perfect place for our stay. Thank you to Bill and Rosie for being such amazing hosts. Beautiful house and very quiet location in the middle of the Somerset countryside but close to local attractions and shop/restaurants/pubs. The family suite is superb and our two young children, one of whom autistic, loved it! Luxury feeling throughout. Bill and Rosie provided everything we needed to make our stay perfectly comfortable. I wish we could have stayed longer. Beautiful village and scenary. Delicious breakfast, especially the home made breakfast. Lovely and gorgeous cats in the house. Now that we know our children love it, we'll definitely be back. Thank you Bill and Rosie!
