BAD EXPERENCE/ I RECOMEND FOR TRANSIT ONLY. 1.Small room with only one window with wall view ; NO NATURAL LIGHT - at 8 am we had the impression that is night but when going outside we were surprised finding beautiful sunshine; 2. Window locked and no possible to get fresh air inside ; 3.No wardrobe at all in this room so that we had to keep all the clothes inside luggage’s entire vacation( 8 days); 4. No proper place for luggage’s hence he had to keep them on the floor ; 5. No bathroom ventilation so that there was always high humidity inside room and all our clothes were wet.

Friendly hotel in a great location for central Funchal. Right next to the cathedral. Always felt welcome there, more so than many hotels. Staff were always helpful. Good buffet breakfast. Nice roof top bar to relax in and public areas were well maintained and pleasantly furnished. The room was clean and generally comfortable and had everything I needed. Any downsides? A little odd to have only clear glass between the bathroom and sleeping area, and seemed even odder to me to then provide a curtain which was too small to create privacy. We had a room looking onto the inner courtyard and these have little natural light. A minor nuisance that the in room safe was a foot level and not fixed to anything making it tricky to use. But overall I’d be more than happy to stay there again.

Very centrally located, close to shops, restaurants and public transport. The reception staff are very pleasant and helpful. The room was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast provided a good selection of hot and cold food. The rooftop terrace opened at 2pm. This was an interesting space with kitsch decorations. I would stay at this hotel again.

have just stayed in this hotel for the last week. location is perfect right in the centre of everything staff really friendly and professional cleanliness is really good decor brilliant and unique breakfast amazing bedroom very good but not quite as the standard of rest of hotel would go back to this hotel and have no problem recommending it

Great Location! Easy to walk to the heart of Funchal . This gave quick access to buses , Cable car and boat trips. Very friendly staff Spoke good english and very eagre to help and advise. Rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast gave a great choice. Terrace bar lovely !
