Corredores do hotel com aparência muito antiga, uartos equipados com mobilia muito antiga, as refeições servidas (excepto pequeno almoço) só são de qualidade em datas servidas, o hotel não tem estacionamento gratuito. Pequeno almoço é de qualidade, a piscina interior tem um ambiente agradável, Staff simpático e atencioso pronto a ajudar.

Booked here for 2 nights price seemed reasonable. Hotel Entrance was half closed off on arrival we pulled up outside in the Drive not sure if it was the Right Hotel NO sign above the Entrance. We were told valet parking! In reality we were told carpark was round the corner unfortunately 😕 we didn't get our luggage out of the car while infront of the Hotel , what a Treck to get back to the Hotel with luggage. This is a very poor 3 star if that, very dated and dirty rooms felt unclean and Bathroom corridors smelt awful of sewage . We had a terrible problem with Ants in the kitchen area in our suite Reception obviously are well prepared as only one can of Ant spray, Reception rang our room asking for the can back after 5 minutes my husband took it back then ended up following her back upstairs to our Neighbouring room so obviously a big problem. As we said very dated on having a walk around the outside of the Hotel we realised they are actually rebuilding it bit by bit as half Reception is all boarded up and left hand side of the building is a building site old front still there see pic. We can see once it's been rebuilt it will be lovely and modern. In our opinion not a place we would ever go back as it stands now. Breakfast was OK but nothing to shout about glad we were only there 2 nights it was more than enough could not wait to leave. On a good note location good near a shopping centre lovely walks around the Seafront but all very hilly if your not fit .

We read previous reviews and were concerned. The concerns were unfounded. We stayed for 28 days in sea view rooms and loved it. Facilities I.e indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, steam room and weight room were well maintained as were the gardens. Swimming towels were free on production of issued card. Staff were friendly and helpful and room maid service excellent. Breakfasts were varied and substantial catering for every taste. Evening meals were more restricted but adequate. There was nightly entertainment. The location was perfect for able bodied but I could see the hilly location being a problem for those that are not. Building work going on next door ( like a large number of hotels) didn't detract from holiday. Would we stay in this hotel again YES. The Island is spectacularly beautiful.

First the good bits. The hotel cleanliness is excellent all departments. Food is plentiful all be it typical 3 star. The rooms are well proportioned but a bit dated. Staff were excellent. This is a well placed location within easy reach of bars,restaurants and shopping. The downsides. Next to the pool Area is a large construction site and from 8am Till 6pm very noisy.(see video) with Jack hammers pounding away and very noisy builders. I must say this is no fault of the hotel. Be aware like most of maderia walking is hard with up and down steep hills and steps. Again beyond hotel fault. See attached photo of building site. Arrived 16th December still here till Feb. Been here many times the staff are amazing. Hotel rooms are kept spotless. No complaints with either breakfast or evening meals. Highly recommend for New Year fantastic food with drink included and a superb view of the fireworks from the roof. Then back down to continue party. Yes the hotel could do with a refurbishment but the testament is it is always fully booked so shows their donning something right. The staff will do anything for you the location is excellent beautiful pools and gardens. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

As an older solo female traveller, I was very pleased at the warm welcome and attention I received from Idalina and Filipa at reception, and their ongoing help with any queries. Due to gusty winds our flight from the UK had been delayed by two hours. I felt safe on my own at this hotel, and would recommend it. There was a security guard in reception at all times. I had booked tours of the island through my travel agent, Hays Travel, who use Lido tours. Idalina explained I would have to contact them direct. I highly recommend Lido tours, they sent me a text the night before a trip confirming the meeting place in the morning, and each guide was amazing in their own way. Idalina was also extremely helpful when I had to ring down with a query later in the evening. My studio room with balcony was on the 4th floor, accessible by either of two lifts or the stairs. It was very clean, with a small kitchen, fully equipped. It was a large room with tv, ample wardrobe space, a table and chairs, dressing table and chair, and twin beds. The bathroom had a shower attachment over the bath. I had received all information upon arrival, and was pleased the restaurant was still open at 2100. The restaurant offers a buffet and as a vegetarian my choices were limited. The restaurant staff are very professional, the Gala night on Christmas Eve was very pleasant. Location wise the hotel is a 45 minute walk from Funchal. The number 1 and 2 bus taking you into town are available from the bus stop on the main road opposite the hotel, and there are many taxis available. Across the road from the hotel is a small coffee shop, and a pharmacy. A few minutes beyond this is a large three storey shopping mall with a large supermarket on the lower floor.
