Le Marelle

To be clear, I did not actually stay here, though due to my own mistake (double-booked vs. another property) I did pay for four nights and check in (though promptly checked out), hence I feel qualified to comment. In short – I’m almost glad I double-booked, as I would not have wanted to stay here. The room was quite horrid, stuck at the top of a narrow staircase, small and dark with fusty pink décor and not-very-appealing bathroom, no view. The staff were unwelcoming with limited English, and the owner unsympathetic to my plight (though to be fair he was within his rights). A large dining patio looks out on a spectacular view but is itself rather charmless. There is limited parking adjacent. After some persuasion the owner did provide a small (~10%) refund, which was appreciated, but it was about the only thing I did appreciate about this place. There are nicer options nearby.

We have searched through the Internet for a lower priced bed and breakfast in a less touristic site at the Amalfi Coast and have found Le Marelle. Very good breakfast with juices, fresh Italian bread and I will never forget the incredible tasty cappuccino that the owner served. He was even so kind to offer a second one. I will also never forget the beautiful view on the Amalfi Coast during breakfast on the very nice terrace outside. Good rooms, we had a double room with a good bathroom. Le Marelle is exactly in between Amalfi/Ravello and Positano, which are one of the most famous and beautiful places to visit. Especially Ravello is amazing, visit the little streets and incredible views of the parks (Rufolo & Cimbrone). We have also walked in the Nature Reserve just outside Amalfi. From there you can walk passing lemon fields, waterfalls, old metal factory's and if you want even to Pontone/Scala/Ravello. Ask the tourist office in Amalfi for a map. There should also be a nice blue grot close to Praiano (and therefore close to the B&B) we were sorry to not visit this grot, because we did not have time. But it is definitely worth ask the tourist office about it. We did not know anything about the coast so we did not expect the B&B to be sited at 480 m height and therefore very far from the sea (5000 steps down) if you don't have a car. But there were a lot of busses passing right in front of Le Marelle, so you can easily reach Amalfi and very nice beaches as well. You can also buy the bus tickets at the B&B. It is definitely a place that for it's price deserves more than 5 stars with it's amazing view, breakfast and kindness of the owners.

I totally recommend it! The owners were super nice to us, as we switched places last minute and they were welcoming and helpful. Clean and cosy room, and the mattress was perfect. Breakfast was great as they also had quite a few things to choose from and then there is the spectacular view!

B&B perfetto per chi deve visitare la costiera.abbiamo trascorso il ponte del 1 maggio con amici in questo posto ben organizzato,stanze pulite e con tutti i confort,i proprietari gentilissimi e cordiali.colazione abbondante con qualsiasi cosa volevi c'era caffè ☕️ ottimo 😁😁😁una vista stupenda.....peccato sia finita troppo presto. Alla prossima 😉😉😉

L’Hotel Le Marelle, è stata una piacevole sorpresa. Personale accogliente e molto gentile per questa piccola vacanza di due giorni. Le stanze nella loro semplicità sono pulite e munite di confort e wi-fi. La colazione servita nella splendida terrazza con un panorama mozzafiato, è stata sempre abbondante e veramente buona ed il personale sempre premuroso nell’offrirti altro oltre a quello già previsto. Sicuramente il mio giudizio è positivo e nel mio piccolo non posso che consigliarla. ciao Maximo

Poche parole per descrivere un posto fantastico ed accogliente. Consigliato al massimo. Nemmeno difficile da raggiungere, nel collegato ovunque. Bellissimo. Anche la colazione è abbondante ed il personale molto disponibile.
